Thanks Marshall.

You didi mention that GongZC was obviously tired when playing against GongRN, maybe !!!

But if I'm not wrong she was playing against her team mate in the earlier match. She only needed about half an hour to win that is only in 2 sets.

And as for the Mens' Single Hendrawan was obviously lucky to win.

I partly agree with you about the Hendrawan-Taufik match. Hendrawan was licky in the sense that, had Taufik maintained the pace he set in the beginning of the third game, and had kept using as much power as he used in making those seven points, then Hendrawan would have had no chance.

But: In my opinion Taufik was playing much faster than in the first two games, and because he made so many weak returns of serve at the end of the second game I think he was tiring badly. If that's true, then by pressing so hard in the third game he was much more likely to injure himself, by losing concentration and doing bad footwork, overextending a lunge, or something else brought on by fatigue. Maybe Hendrawan tired Taufik out so much he had no choice but to try pressing Hendrawan in game 3, even though it was dangerous.

This is an interesting match for fans to discuss, because we can argue 1) Taufik lost the match with that unlucky groin pull; or 2) Hendrawan won the match by sticking to a strategy that wore Taufik down.

I believe that if during the entire match Taufik had played smarter and waited for better chances he might have worn Hendrawan down and won that way.

This is a fascinating problem: of two top players, why does one win and the other lose on any given occasion? I LOVE THIS SPORT!

thanks marshall.

that was an interesting read! did GZC looks small and fagile? one time i was playing caribean poker beside Theroen Fleury (NHL player) and i didn't know it was him until he left the table. he fool me because he has a set of perfect teeth, smoke heavily, and kinda small for a NHL player. i don't know about you guys but i have trouble recognizing famouse people in public, they look different.

Actually, she looked taller, but very slim. That's why it took me a little time to recognize her because I was expecting someone shorter. My wife stood next to Gong for a photo, and says she's solid muscle.

Gong is 163cm. that's 5'4". that is actually a decent height for Chinese women. the media has been comparing her to the other giants like Gong RN (173cm/5'8") and Zhou Mi (174cm/5'8.5"), thus we all get the impression that she is short.

i though she is much shorter, i have video of her (GZC) playing Dai Yun and also a video of her playing Camilla M, she looks small compared to the other two.
