I have been trying out some New raquets from SOTX...
The following are new (I think)..
1) SOTX Woven 12
2) SOTX Woven 13
3) SOTX titanium 7
4) SOTX Titanium 9
5) SOTX Titanium 11
The Ti-7,9, and 11 are Isometric head, but with an active kickpoint (same idea as some Gosen rackets). The old SOTX TI-series had the kick-point but was classic oval head.. and rather flexy shaft.
The Ti-11 is stiff to mid flex I would say, and TI-9 medium-to-more flex and Ti-7 is very flexible...
Myself and a friend compared ti-11 to MP100, switching back and forth and mostly doing smash, and defense. And we could both agree that the ti-11 was indeed powerful.. more so than MP-100 !!! Which I was quite stunned, as I find MP100 to be one of the most "punchy" rackets out there..
What Can I say.. I'm sold on it.. Will probably switch to the Ti-11 from my AT800.. But Iäll have to play more with it.. first impressions can sometimes be deceiving :-)
Anyway.. I think Ti-7 and Ti-9 are a little bit to flexy for my taste.. Could mabe work if I strung them harder (tried them 21x23, but I usually use 25x23 or harder).
I also tried Woven 12, and 13.. Which I think are a bit to heavy feel for doubles.. More of singles-type rackets.. It Seems like SOTX has made these two much much stiffer than the rest of the Woven rackets.. Which I think is good news for all power-smashers out there :-) . It didn't feel like I got the timeing just right when trying them, so I'll probably have a go later.. as they really feels like they have potential but that I'm to weak in my ofrearm to get the speed and timing right (or maybe I was just tired after all smashing :-) )
I would welcome if any other BF:er had some input on these models to comapre their experiences (and maybe get some second opinions, as I possbily can't buy and do longer testing with all of the new models ;-) )
Cheers,
