Hi Melvyn, i need to know when most people are free before i can attempt to book a court. Actually for me, i like to play sports before dinner, so 3-6 pm appeals to me more...but if most people are free at another time slot, then i'll go with the majority.

I was thinking of 2 December '04 (Thursday) for our first game together. I know its about a week+ more away but this is coz i will be having exams until 1 December.

Let me finish my exams so i can play wholeheartedly with u'all without my minds being in 2 places okie :D

A one week wait can also be good coz in the meantime, let's see if we have more people who wish to join us....else only 4 people can be boring too.

So tentatively, I hope to book 2 courts on 2 Dec '04 (Thursday) afternoon for around 8-10 people. 10 people will be best since it enables one of us to be resting at any one time on each court to perhaps help to keep track of the score or just to relax awhile...

Meanwhile everyone take care and should the time/date be unsuitable for any of you, do reply to this thread and I will see what i can do.

FYI, the rates are as follows:

$3.50/hr for non-peak and $7.40/hr for peak

Non-Peak Hours (preferred):
7.00 am to 6.00 pm on weekdays, excluding public holidays

Peak Hours (too costly i feel):
6.00 pm to 10.00 pm on weekdays
7.00 am to 10.00 pm on weekends and public holidays

Hi Feizhu, whichever time we play, it should be 2 hours. What i meant was that if we play at night, it will be a two hour time slot anytime from 7-10pm. Meaning either 7-9pm or 8-10pm.

That means we must book very early but unfortunately i have exams from 9am-11am on the earliest booking day which is 30 Nov. That is around the time when the booking office opens so i hope someone can volunteer to book one badminton court on 2 december from 4-6pm on behalf of me.

If not, i can try to rush back immediately after my paper but the earliest i would reach bishan sports hall will be around 12.20 noon....juz afraid that by then our preferred time slots will all be taken :(

By the way, you can book the courts online through the SSC website at 0700hrs and pay for it in person by 1200hrs at any sports hall or via credit card.

Hi Feizhu, thanks for the info...guess now i can make a booking before going for my exams and then get to Clementi Sports Hall before 12 noon to confirm and pay for the booking.So guys, u'all don't need to help me to book a court anymore since i should be able to do that before 12 noon :)

Hi Minwei, i understand that Arcos and Feizhu can only make it at night but since the majority opted for 4-6pm, i decided to go for that time. Moreover i think Feizhu can only start in January due to some wrist injury if i remember correctly. So i feel 4-6pm is best for the majority.

Watercolours,you do not need to buy shuttlecocks and please don't go and buy shuttlecocks from Sports shops like Sportslink,World of Sports etc. .I will provide it.

But i'm sure you also spent quite some money on the shuttlecocks....its only fair that we can split the costs so you won't have to pay for the shuttlecocks yourself unless you really don't mind... :eek:

By the way, Kai Yi had a last minute course to attend and won't be joining us tomorrow. Since mankind has still not replied, i will open another thread to invite 1-2 more people to join us else each of us needs to pay around $1.70 for the court booking and there is no rest time since only got 4 of us.
