Hello everyone.

How many of you copy international players serves, i have almost mastered Tony Gunawans and also why have you chosen to serve like the player you have chosen.

I think Halim Heryanto has the most unusual style and always flick serves and i think Rexy Mainaky has the most carefree serve.

What are your thoughts.

I dun, I go with wutever i'm comfortable with, and gets over the net the most since i use the low serve, though itz not the backhand one, can't do tt one, gets smashed down every time.

Hmmm ...

Dunno why it should be a good idea, for me, guess experimentation has allowed me to get my 'own' serve which serves me fine as long as I execute it properly I can get it to land anywhere on the front service line while people find it rather difficult to tap it.

But I guess I've plenty of practice to go as it's usual success rate to date is about 60% only ..... ( That's why I said, if I get it done properly ... ) By the way I serve backhand.

I started playing before I saw any international players, so I copied the best serve I had seen, which was a long singles forehand serve that rose almost to the ceiling and came straight down on the backline. My copy is not an exact duplicate, but sometimes it's not too bad. I serve doubles with my forehand also.

i too copied other players when i didn't have any badminton tape. i usually emulate the player who i think has the best technique from a simple forehand clear to a backhand drive. the only thing i fail to copy is the backhand short serve in double, i still try to master the 'random delay' routine, serve just as the opponent put up his/her racket or pause in random second before serving. i do not pause more than 3 seconds in a non-tournament match, i think it cause undue delay.
