There are 5 models of Mizuno badminton shoes:--
1) WAVE SMASH SR (art. no. 7KM-40009)
2) WAVE SMASH RP (art. no. 7KM-41014)
3) WAVE ANGLE ME (art. no. 7KM-42062)
4) WAVE ANGLE PF (art. no. 7KM-35535)
5) WAVE GATE (art. no. 7KM-34014 or 7KM34009)
I appeal to those BFers who own any one of the above to post their reviews on the performance to the Equipment Reviews under Shoes.
As I notice that there are players wearing Mizuno Volleyball or indoor court shoes with art. no. 9KV-xxxxx to play badminton, they are also welcome to post their reviews on those shoes to the Equipment Reviews under Shoes.
Really appreciate their reviews for the benefits for those player in need of kind advice for wearing proper shoes for playing badminton.

We just bought a Wave Angle R2(art no. 7KM46003) for my son. That model is with such high demand that all the other sizes were out-of-stock. So happy with the two ventilating "holes" at the bottom and the ventilating holes with the sole.
The shoes is lighter than the original blue Wave Angle but still well cushioned, air-breathing, and smart looking.

crosstrainer 03-14-2005, 03:46 AM been using my Mizuno Wave Gate shoes since nov 04 and i'm still very happy with them. They set me back about US$48 which is not a bad deal for a mizuno.
I also have the first gen wave smash Sr, but truth be told, the wave gate is a better shoe. The cusioning is more forgiving, it's better ventilated (cooler on my feet) and they're just more durable. I had it reviewed in a local forum and I gave it a 9/10. :)

Mizuno Wave Gate II is shown in the Mizuno 2005 Spring/Summer Collection brochure which I have got it from World of Sport (Singapore).
There are 3 colours: Blue (7km-??), Dark Blue(7KM-54014) and Red (7KM-54062).

dogflu 03-17-2005, 10:12 AM hmm...i've seen my friends wearing it....7km54130 or 34104 i think. good pair of shoes. reasonable price too. thinking of getting one after my shb98
taneepak 03-17-2005, 08:35 PM Mizuno badminton shoes come in two categories. They are those for natural sportsmen who have flexible feet and there are others for players who have more rigid feet. This is one distinction between Mizuno and Yonex badminton shoes.
Mizuno badminton shoes that are specifically made for players who have more rigid feet come with the model designation 7KM-34014, 7KM-44014, 7KM-54014, 7KM-34062, 7KM-44062, 7KM-54062. The 7KM-X4014 is blue and the 7KM-X4062 is red. The X in 7KM-X54014 is the year. There is a semi-rigid 7KM-52062 (red) with 2 holes. Other than these shoes, the remaining model nos. are for players with flexible feet, and the flexibility of these shoes can be checked by simply bending the shoes in the middle.
If you ever injure your ankles, perhaps you shouldn't be wearing shoes that are designed for the top professionals. The humble 7KM-X4014 or 7KM-X4062 would be more suitable for 90% of the players out there. :D

Wave Blocker 2
I bought this shoe 2 months ago. Agree this is a "Volley Ball Shoe" code is : 9kv45003.
I have quite narrow feet and almost all the 7kV versions are to wide in the front for me. A lot of people use this in the courts here and find them quite good.
Support at the heel is quite good. Although there is a tendency to make your arch painfull if you tighten the laces to much specially for flat footed.
If you dont have enough budget for a Yonex SHB98, this can do the job! (I have the Yonex SHB 98 also as alternate shoe) :)

Yes, it is a year 2005 model. Unlike the earlier year 2-holes model, this model has a more rigid sole, borrowed from the soles of the 34014 and 54014 althougfh not quite as rigid.

Anyone in singapore know where to buy this shoe? and how much it would roughly cost?
Slacker 03-21-2005, 08:20 AM hmmm....in spore its is quite hard to find a good "purely for badminton" shoes unless u wan those yonex SHB series shoes which can find for S$120-S$130 at bras besah 10 & 10. so a mizuno volleyball shoes is a good choice instead. it offers excellent cushioning, light-weight n the soles are not so thick as to hinder movement n i believe its durability will be better den yonex shb shoes.. as to weida84 ques.... i just bought a mizuno wave blocker 3 (model no.9kv-58709) 2mths ago from takashimaya dept store...the top floor selling sports epmt. its selling at ard S$115 after discounts. i went there coz i got S$70 takashimaya shopping vouchers to use, if not i will definitely go over to queensway. i tink its selling -/= S$100 or so n can try bargain somemore. :D

You are very lucky that you have got a pair of Mizuno Wave Blokcer 3 at good bargain (Model No. 9KV-58709; 5 meaning it is 2005 stock). WOS retailed this model at S$139. If you go over to Queensway Shopping Centre, I think you would have bought the 2004 stock because the model no. are mostly 9KV-4xxxx.
At Bras Basah Complex Level 3, I have seen the 2005 new Mizuno badminton shoes at Ranking.
It is Mizuno Wave II (Model no. 7KM-54062 (red) and 7KM-54014(blue)) retailed at S$82.90. I wanted to buy but there is no size 26.0.
Perhaps you can purchase this model as a 2nd pair and tell us your view.

laserjet 03-26-2005, 07:17 AM Can someone enlighten me on the difference between a Wave Blocker II and III?
If I look at the Wave Blocker III (9KV-587/588) on Mizuno Taiwan website, I do not see any great difference at all:

The difference between Wave Blocker II (9KV-48914) and Wave Blocker III (9KV-587/588) is very slight in the cutting design except that one is starts with 4 meaning 2004 production and the other starts with 5 meaning 2005 stock.
fr_topak 03-27-2005, 05:32 AM The sole is different from the pics. plus there's no black color? :)
jkusmanto 03-29-2005, 09:15 AM I have surfed to this, but can't find a shop which sell the Mizuno Badminton shoes.

http://www.bbeshop.com/show/mizuno/shoes_7km46003.jpg
Its wide similar to the ergo Yonex shoes. Got two holes on the sole. Midcut design. White and silver color. Its a badminton specific shoe.
My foot is not as cramped now. My foot remains cool in it too. The fit at the are at the middle of the foot is awesome, this is the main reason why I bought it. I was also checking out the 7KM-51025, difference with the 46003 is that this model is also wide at that area (mid-foot) of the foot that is why i opted for the 46003. Ankle support is OK due to the midcut design. Grip on court is OK, definitely better than my 45003. Cushioning is adequate (I rarely do jump smashes, but I do tend to do hard lunges). I also feel that I am more stable during hard lunges, maybe due to lower height of the soles as compared to my old 45003.
The white color tends to get dirty fast specially the inside of my left foot (I'm right handed). The marks (black dirty spots) (re: Hole on Shoe??) that everyone is talking about are already showing.
Overall Im a satisfied and proud owner!

sydney 04-08-2005, 09:46 AM Hi all, I bought my WAVE SMASH RP(7KM-41014) from shuttle-house (Japan) last year. I found it to be extremely light, flexible and cool(better ventilation). Best of all, it supports wide-feet! For those who are looking to buy Mizuno badminton shoes, I seriously recommend Shuttle-House which is based in Japan. They stock all the major badminton brands and have a website, http://shuttle-house.com which provides all the information you need and they will ship overseas (those of you in America, Europe, Asia -Pacific) and the service is very prompt and good. Another interesting thing is, they have a special discount depending on your purchase. Also, watch out for some of their clearance stock which is good value. I hope this information would be helpful to all our fellow Badminton fans.
p/s: They (Shuttle-house) also sent me a free shoe bag with their own funny badminton character called "Badminton Taro" when I received my shoe.
laserjet 04-24-2005, 01:01 AM For those in Singapore whose shoe size is 24cm, Sintec @ Tampines Telepark has one last pair of Mizuno Wave Gate I going for ~S$55!

so you bought your shoes at shuttle house? What about the sizing? I reckon i need a shoe for a 26mm foot (27mm shoe, approximately US10). The sizes in the size selection in shuttle-house's website are in shoe-milimeters, right?

1. WAVE ANGLE R1 (7KM-52062)
2. WAVE ANGLE R2 (7KM-46003)
Thanks

White_trash 08-14-2005, 03:16 PM i've asked yonex's people and asics' people already... now it's time for the mizuno people. Which size of Mizuno Wave Gate II do you think i should get for my 26cm foot (the right foot is even a little smaller - like 25,5cm or something)?
27cm or 27,5cm?
P.S. are the sizes in the www.shuttle-house.com mizuno size selector shoe- or foot- sizes?
sydney 08-17-2005, 07:39 AM Sorry about the slow response. I just came back from work. I did not use their shoe selector. My shoe size is 28.0cm for Mizuno although it was 28.5cm for a PUMA. So literally, US size 10.0 would be 28.0cm. The best is to use a "brannock" device which is readily available at most shoe stores that you go to. Just pretend that you want to buy a pair of shoes...and get them to measure your feet....then you should be alright. I hope that's helpful for you.
Cheers.

taneepak 08-17-2005, 08:01 AM Just remember Mizuno badminton shoes bearing any number after 7KM denotes the year, i.e, 7KM-54062 is a 2005 model, 44062 is a 2004 model. You should be able to get steeper discounts for 2004 and earlier years models.

Firstly, i haven't seen such a device anywhere near where i'm living.
Secondly, it would not exactly solve my problem, because the sizes in shuttle-house page are in mms, not brannock's US sizes. I'd rather believe there is a strong correlation between the size of the foot in mms and the size of the shoe in mms.
Thirdly, perhaps someone can send me a top-down picture of a brannock device with the specifications how large the distances between numbers are, so i can "reconstruct" the device on paper?
P.S. what was your foot size in mms, sydney?
sydney 08-19-2005, 02:16 AM Hi, first of all, my size is 28.0 cm. The Japanese uses the Metric system. So, 28.0 means 28 cm. Now, to resolve your problem, here's a link to download the Brannock chart which I had used for myself before I bought my pair of shoes from Shuttlehouse.
http://www.shoes.com/shop/mens_brannock.pdf
Print that out and you will have your own Brannock (paper) measure.
After that, look at this http://www.brannock.com/conversion.html
for the conversion to Metric system.
I hope this solves your solution.
Cheers,
Sydney
White_trash 08-22-2005, 04:46 PM thanks, syd! I tried the paper version and it turned out i needed 9US/8.5UK - just as i thought. I mentioned somewhere in the forum previously that i had tried asics on and the 27cm/9US/42.5EU model was pretty tight. I guess i should go for mizuno size 9US anyway.
White_trash 08-23-2005, 12:14 AM Sydney, what about that brannock heel-to-ball measure? Is there a paper version for that too? ;)
Pball 08-23-2005, 01:03 AM WT - in addition to my PM.. the shoes I gave to my brother was Asics gels.. they were very light, but had less cushioning than my Mizuno now.. am not so sure about the model I got.. but the code is... 7KM-54025. I have moderately high arched feet and the cushioning is good. They are not are bouncy as say a K-swiss outdoor casual shoe.. but my right hip (play right handed) doesn't hurt anymore, unlike when I was using the Asic gel. (am about 75 kgs.)
to clarify.. and in fairness to the Asics.. I have torn both ACL and PCL in both my kness during my teens.. torn minisucs (?) and a lot of other injuries to my knees.. so the acis might provide adequate cushioning to most of the players who aren't injured like I am..

White_trash 08-23-2005, 04:38 PM Sydney, please assist me once more, and this is crucial - how the hell did you enter your address in the order form? The shuttle-house.com website for some reason finds my address field empty and asks for an address.:mad::mad::(
I think i got it - there could be no punctuation in the address field.

sydney 08-25-2005, 07:45 PM Be rest assured that you'll get your shoes in perfect condition. Without prejudice, no one beats the Japanese when it comes to packaging <img>
As for the shipping, they normally use the postal service "EMS" which is shared by all the postal services worldwide. I believe you should be able to get yours within 4 - 5 days.

b0urg301s13 08-27-2005, 10:33 PM Hi all,
Here is my Wave Smash S2, 7KM-51025, size 27. bought it for abt US$50. this pair has nothing to be complained abt. the sole is a little thinner than Yonex shoes, thus brings more stability. it is also meant for wider feet. but nothing beats the looks that people give you when you wear these pair of shoes. overall, i am satisfied and would recommend these pair.
White_trash 09-03-2005, 04:16 AM Got my Mizuno Wave Gate IIs today!!!!
Can't wait to try them out on court.
The size 27cm fits almost perfectly on my 26/25.5cm foot. Let's just wait and see when and how it feels when they break in.
azabaz_ipoh 07-16-2007, 01:36 AM *sigh* it is even hard to find info on mizuno badminton shoes online, let alone finding them in shops. you would have to browse every shop in your town. :( i was getting excited about the wave gate but now there's a big possibility of not finding them at all.
Type 100 07-16-2007, 07:58 PM It's been a couple weeks since I got my Wave Gate IIs and I can say they're fantastic. Cushioning's good, breathability's better and I noticed a huge improvement in my footwork because I didn't worry about hurting my toes any longer.
If anything, my footwork improved so much that my shots went bad...I guess I'm not used to arriving at the shuttle as quickly as I do now. Hahaha!
In other news, I've just seen pictures of the Wave Gate III posted here somewhere...they look real nice! Unfortunately they're not on sale here in Manila just yet.
azabaz_ipoh 07-20-2007, 08:46 PM i like the mizuno wave angle MC. love the design and color scheme. i found a place here in ipoh that stocks mizuno shoes. dont know what models they have yet. will be going today to check it out. so, can anybody give me the price of mizuno wave gate III or the mizuno wave angle MC in malaysia. i want to see if the price is about the same in ipoh as in KL. otherwise, i might have to make a trip to KL to buy the shoes and that mean i have wait. :(
ionoo 10-30-2008, 11:56 AM wave gate 3 on shuttle house 5,775 yen. How is wave gate III compared to II. I might buy asics gel sensei or mizuno wave gate III. Someone tell me pros and cons of the two?
