Anyone know who to contact in KL and Johor side for tournaments in 2005? Malaysian website not so informative lah. So far only abf got site.

Everyone should lobby them so that information is available and for the good of the sport. Seems that most organizations don't work well and plan with each other.

In fact I went there on the 10th Wednesday at 11am when the API reading was > 150. One court was occupied. I sent my application form and the person looking after the Hall do not aware about this tourrnament. I paid RM50.00, of cause reluctantly, but if you divide it by 2 it is ok, if you make friends it is ok, if you get some business contacts it is ok:) .

I met Michael when I was about to leave. We chit-chatted for a while. I asked him about the tournament. How many badminton kaki were taking part?, any free T-shirt? etc.. http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif buy not much out of him.
He was complaining about the sponsorship, the haze..etc. If he can secure one (sponsorship), those who participate might get a free T-shirt.

You are right he is the boss, he has veto power. If the tournament is popular, he will not entertain you, otherwise he will be at your mercy.

Tournaments is still 2 weeks away. I'm sure he can put in like 21 points for the preliminary rounds. after 2nd rounds or 3rd rounds can play normal 15 points. Give everyone a chance to play lah.....
I tot he's a big fan of badminton and want to grow badminton right? More people also can come to his hall. Bodoh lah...that fella.:D If can, pls call 012 202 1143.

Is the tournament successfully organized? Hopefully it is not similar to MBA age group Tournament which was cancelled due to lack of contestants. Any result? Anyone from BCF in Final?

I wanted to join but when I know that the age limit is 36yrs and above, without hesitation I give it a miss!, I and many older players can't keep pace with those people. If they push their age limit, let say 40 and above, I might have better chances to go a few more round instead of very 1st round. For the amount of $$ to participate (and ridiculous $$ amount for deposits) it is not a good investment to gain experience. It is a super investment to gain humiliation.

(I wonder what is the reason to state 36yrs and not 40yrs? maybe they have good/better players age between 36yrs and above http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/images/smilies/confused.gif or those age group make up majority of players in Pro-One?http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/images/smilies/biggrin.gif )

there is an ongoing badminton team competition in Seri Kembangan started on Tue. The semi and final will be held on next Tue, Jan 3.

Participants:
Lots of good player around this area(Seri Kembangan, Balakong, Cheras B9, B11, Kajang) participated.

Teams: 8

Format:
1. 1 team consists of 5 doubles
2. divided to 2 groups of 4 team, crossover semi

come over and enjoy a good badminton game
Location: Dewan MPSJ Seri Kembangan (beside Post Office, same row with KFC, very visible from Seri Kembangan super-jammed-main-road)

KUALA LUMPUR: More money and an opportunity for career advancement are in store for junior players in the Dr Ko and Looi Interna*tio*nal Bad*minton Championships from Dec 5-7 at the Ko Badminton Hall in Klang.
The prize money for the three-day tournament had been increased from RM60,000 to RM80,000.
And players who give impressive performances will be given partial sponsorships for their training programmes at the Looi Badminton Academy in Old Klang Road here.
The organising chairman, former national player Jack Koh, said that the tournament had attracted players from several foreign countries including England, Sin*ga*pore, Vietnam, Singapore and Maldives.
“We have different age categories for juniors and seniors. Our coaches will keep an eye out for young talent,” said the Jack, who won a silver with Tan Bin Shen in the 2002 world junior championships.
And to make it even more memorable for the youngsters, Beijing Olympics men’s singles silver medallist and world number one Lee Chong Wei will hand out the prizes.
