Hi all,

as mentioned before, i was working on a group discount deal with Holiday Inn Anaheim. now i have the final booking information.

firstly, here is the hotel and address:

Holiday Inn and Suites Anaheim
1240 South Walnut
Anaheim, CA 92802

http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/6c/1/en/hd/laxaw

the regular rate of the hotel is US$71/night and the group discount rate is US$59/night for a standard room.

to make a reservation with the discount, you need to do one of the following:

- make a reservation by phone - call Griselda Vizcarra at +1 (714) 876-2604. if you mention the group BadmintonCentral, they will give you the discount. alternate number is (800) 824-5459

- make a reservation by email - email Megan Hassett at Meganh@dknhotels.com (Megan@dknhotels.com). if you mention the group BadmintonCentral, they will give you the discount.

the discount is only valid between Mon 8/15 and Sunday 8/21. the cut-off date for the group discount is 8/1, you need to make your reservation by then.

right now they have 10 rooms reserved for us.

Well, from the link above, there was no mention about airport shuttle or venue shuttle. I think the IBF WC sponsored hotel has them.

However, with paying the taxis from Orange County Airport and to the Arrowhead Pond. I think staying at Holiday Inn will still be cheaper.

According to the hotel info, OC Airport is 12 miles or 20 km away (taxis about US$30). Arrowhead Pond is about 4 miles or 6 km away.

I do not believe there are any restriction. When I was talking to the hotel, they said if there were more reservation than the alloted rooms, they will just increase the allotment and keeps the same price.

Kwun,

Thanks. Have decided to go to World Champs.
Have put in my leave and order tickets ( I wanted to get the best tickets for position, so had to settle on the mini session package - section 208 row Q) . Now just working on airfare (looks like best price is AU$1609.00) and accomodation.

Will there be a BF gathering?

Regards

Stuart

i hope so. none is organized right now. but looking at the schedule, there are tons of free time before the matches start in fri/sat/sun. there is another thread in this forum concerning the gathering. still a month to go and i think the interests will grow as we get closer. however, we do need someone local to help us out. otherwise it will be very difficult.

If you're flying then go to Yahoo and click on <Travel> and select <Hotel + Air>, I got mine for about $300/person(round trip ticket plus Doubletree Hotel(3 nights) near Disneyland plus 3 days car rental from Hertz(Economy) with 2 guests per room(double bedded). I think this may end up chepaer than buying air ticket and booking hotel seperately? Of course, I am flying within California hence cheaper air ticket.

I just talk to the hotel, if you are flying into the OC airport, you can use the Super Shuttle. First person is $29 but second person is $9.

Wow, looks like the place is booked probably for this event as well..

Hmm, Kwun, how about this hotel, TownePlace Suites by Marriott. Quite cheap also and closer to the Anaheim Pond(at least closer then Holiday Inn Hotels & Suites).

Or Anaheim Marriott, where the players are staying..

ctjcad, thanks for the suggestion. TownePlace is full as well. Marriott @ $150+ is a bit far from my budget range...

still looking...
