Are racquets in Japan cheaper?..I have a friend going to Japan soon and I wanted him to get me some racquets..IF they are cheaper than in Toronto. There are less fakes in Japan than in China right? I'm just posting here to get a quick response, as my friend is leaving soon.

Racquests in Japan are more expensive than the racquests that's selling all around the world and I seriously doubt that if there are any fakes in Japan if you purchase them from retail store

I don't get how the racquets can be the most expensive in Japan though? I mean they don't have to ship out the racquets anywhere, plus its the home business.

lol. It's just home business. You know japanese have a high cost of living right.... lol.

Search for kwun's thread where he visited the sacred ground of the yonex store.... and all shall be revealed.

Other than the official Yonex store, aren't there any other stores in Japan that sell for cheaper than MSRP?

yes, (see kwun's post) but it's likely still more expensive anywhere else outside JP

I think you should say buying JP coded racquet anywhere is expensive, not just in Japan. But since you can only get JP coded racquets in Japan, then it is more expensive to buy in Japan because you can only get JP coded racquets. Unless someone know of a store that sells grey market racquets, which I highly doubt, since no Japanese in their right mind would want to lose face by using a SP racquet.

About a year ago buying a racket in japan was about the same price as buying in Canada. With the dollar doing so well, it's cheaper to buy in Japan. For example you can pick up an At700 for around 16000yen. That's just under $200cdn.

I wouldnt suggest buying rackets from Japan, one who would do so is to avoid identifying the authentics from the fakes and also believing that JP coded rackets are superior to the rest. Only consider buying a NS8K if you insist to do so.

Shirts are what you are suppose to get from JP, they do have a few more designs sold only within japan and it has been confirmed that they last and wont fade.

just my 2 cents!

:)

buy from a reputable dealer and you won't have problems. I think it would be harder to buy a fake racket in Japan than a real one, in fact i've never seen a fake one in Japan. All the stores I frequent would never carry fake rackets.
