well, my mens singles tournament open is starting in a few days, and i really need some useful hints to win my opponent. I am an intermediate-advanced player who is 18 years old will be playing against an old veteran about 40+ years old, both of us know our style very well and i have never beaten him in 7 matches before.. not even 12 points. fact is, he is a very strong stroke player who plays accuracy and placing, he uses his wirst to punch shuttles to the base and tries to wrongfoot foot. me being a fast player i tend to kill myself all over the court , and my opponent hitting the same place twice would mean extra work for me. my smashes are quite weak which is countered by his cross court returns. My style is deception and placing and i juz cant seem to get points. the club coach told me just to have fun & join for the experience which obviously means he also knows im gonna lose... sooo should i still continue to fight a losing battle or a walkover where i can find soemthing better do... ? hmmmmm.

My advice is that you ask Lee Jae Bok www.ibbs.tv (http://www.ibbs.tv) who does a digital video website and answer questions on badminton from improving or learn to win your game, all you do is register and ask your question.

maybe if you slow down the pace at which you play? maybe u could throw in some punch clears and drops instead of smashes so that u have more time to get into position and to move him around?
it sounds like he is control of the rallies when u play him? try to move him around as much as possible in every point and be patienet before smashing:)
