So far, I have found the most amazing things about Yonex 2005-equipments are:

1. New Cab-20 (black, silver, and red)
2. NS-7000 is considered as somewhat "doubles-offensive" racket.
3. BG-66 Sharp (new string, in 0.68mm thickness)

i don't usually care too much about racket colors, but since cab20 is my favorite racket, i must say that the new color is very nice. it has a nice modern look, but at the same time, maintains the traditional cab look as well. very very nice!

According to my local dealer, the status for US market is the following:

1. SHB 98 is already discontinued. Dealers can no long get popular sizes for SHB98 any more. Once their stock is done, say good bye to this lightening fast shoes.

2. SHB99 should be avaiable by mid to late March. Not sure which version though, low cut or mid cut.

3. NS7k is already available. My dealer just ordered 2 for demo. ;)

Bintang (local court/proshop) said they already ordered new stuff and theyre ariving sometime this week... i cant wait.

I am quite confused with the new BG66-S. Since the diameter increased to 0.68mm, I wonder why Yonex still call it BG66. Is it like BG66? Is it just BG66 with some mods? Or Perhaps Yonex ran out of numbers? (:p unlikely)

I suppose its like the Bg 65. Its 0.70mm and not 65 but for some weird reason they have been calling it Bg 65... So i think the 66s thus falls in line with all the confusion in the naming

If you take the Bg 65 cover, its says Micron 65 and 0.70mm...

because it was derived from bg66, it's part of the 66 family.
99% of players don't read or care about the diameter or its makeup.
calling it bg67 or bg68 may confuse buyers.

I don't think it will be available in US, as the same as before with the purple version.

i want to add two more observation about the cab20.

first is that they are still saying Xia is using the cab20. Xia started using the AT700 for a little bit, not sure if that means he has switched back.

second is that if Yonex is making a new color for the cab20 JP, it probably means the model will be around for a little while more. at least in JP. so if cab20 fans are desperate for one, JP is still an option.

FYI, the yonex apparel catalog (japan) is alot thicker than the yonex racquet+shoes+strings+grips+shuttles catalog.

I just tried NS7000 on sunday. The performance is ok, as it's head light, the swing is quite easy and fast. I used it for some smash drills, and find the power is acceptable. However, i am NOT impressed with it's color. It looks very nice on the internet, but the actual item, hmmmmm.... I think the paint job remind me about some cheap toys... :rolleyes:
