i don't really see the point of the AT 800 DF if you wanted a more flexable racket you would buy a MP 88, or a cheaper racket. The power won't be the same either.

Well don't buy an AT800 DE then :p But plenty of other people (including me) do like this racket very much, and do see the point of it.

By the way, I used to play with an MP88.

i didn't understood your point exactly.
if u r saying AT800DE is more flexible than mp88, lol, ur dead wrong.

Ardy wiranata had switched to a AT800DE from a mp88 too.

I'll trade any of mine cheap rackets for your (non damaged) AT800DE, no time limit and i'll pay for your shipping too.

if you have a point, you should make a solid theory to back up your statement. being a little flexible is not an excuse for the racket to be in the same league as mp88. it is not a fair judgement to look from one aspect as well. if you do not like the racket because of its price, then, nobody is forcing you to buy it.

lol i had no intention of buying it anyways. but what is the point of it though.

Its not a question of whether you intend to buy it, its a question of whether or not you've actually TRIED it for any significant amount of time.

I found the 800DF to be an excellent compromise between flexibility, speed and power. Enough for me to move from an AT700 to the same. It was only later on when I felt I had enough feel for these kind of rackets that I shifted to the 800OF, which is also a compromise but more biased towards power, which I felt I needed.

The stiffness is just 1 of the hundres of factors of a racket. Once all these complicated factors summed up, it then down to the player him/herself to make the decision. If the feeling is good, the racket is a treasure. If not, the it's a waste of $$$. ;)

Equipment preference is not as objective as you seem to think. The "point" of an At800DE is:

Make money for Yonex
Provide a racket that SOME players like (not you, clearly)

While we are on the subject, has anyone noticed that the 800DE is just a liiiitle bit shorter than the 800OF and tha 700?

No, haven't really compared the two of them THAT closely. And yes, just 'cause the DE is less stiff than the OF IS the very reason why it exists, to accomodate those who don't like the OF.

.......has anyone noticed that the 800DE is just a liiiitle bit shorter than the 800OF and tha 700?How much are you talking about? A fraction of mm.

I found them (AT800 OF and AT800 DE) same size at head, staft and the handle.

I only see the fake one with diferent size.

No, not true. The AT800DE is exactly of the same length as the AT700. Only the shaft of the AT700 is longer. Perhaps, your AT800DE has been distorted by the stringer or could it be a fake?

It might be the stringer. When I got mine I had the seller string it and the head shape came out longer and narrower. When I had my regular stringer string my second DE it came out to be shorter and wider. :o

But which of the two is correctly strung? Maybe one is okay the other not okay, or maybe both are not okay. The only way to check is against a standard, and that is an unstrung racquet of the same model. If your strung racquets are distorted they will have a shorter service life.

I'm an AT 800 OF user and I just tried the DE last week. It seems to be fast so my timing is a bit off.

It seems the aerodynamic frame make the DE faster...

But it seems to have less power than my OF or AT 700.

Still thinking whether to buy a second hand DE in the future.

Is DE the most popular yonex racquet at this time???

It might be at that.

Also, I will look at the grip, sometimes the overgrip can push the racket up if you overlap the grip too much down below.

the bunch of yonex rackets is making me drool :D

i'm a proud and happy owner of 2 YY AT800DF's. It packs enough power and it has excellent maneuverability to boot. Nothing to complain about it, save for the ridiculous price here in the phils (Php13,000 ~ $235)

For that price, you can get 2 TH-version rackets from BKK :p

You can get a AT 800DE at somewhere at market market for around Php 9,000. Its a TH version. But the cheapest is still at Bangkok near National Sports Stadium, you can get a TH version for a $100.

Why do you own 2 of them, are you planning to sell one?

I agree - AT800DF sucks, a horrible racquet indeed!

I like the AT800OF and AT800DE sooo much better!

(Geez, if you're going to try to put down a racquet... at least know which racquet you're actually talking about)

I find that to be a Very Ignorant question.... its jus like asking people, Why should you Drive a Civic instead, since there is a Corolla, or a Kia Spectra instead of a Ford Focus?
