I don't know where to post this question. Since this is related to racket (equipment), so I posted here.

What does "MADE IN JAPAN" mean? I take it as the goods are made in Japan, produced in Japan and fabricated in Japan, even the raw material could be procured in Japan.

My understanding is that the letter JP, CH, TW, etc are the country code meaning the country where Yonex rackets are distributed. I often see Yonex rackets show a serial no ended with JP, CH, TW etc. It also has "Made in Japan" printed on the shaft and "Made in Japan" at the handle base.

Does it mean all Yonex rackets (JP, CH, TW, SP, etc) fabricated in Japan unless it specifically says "Made in Taiwan or Made in China"?

Please share your view.

yes.

there is also a sneaky one: "designed in Japan" that you may see in some Yonex racket.

otherwise, by law they should be all made in Japan. Yonex do have a couple of big factories in the Tokyo area. we know that Yonex shoes and shuttles are made in China, so these big factories are probably spinning out the "Made in Japan" rackets.

I am just thinking about how many percentage is Made in Japan. Will the Yonex racket 100% made in Japan including Shrink Wrap, staples, Grommet......

As per I know in the garment industry, "Made in Hong Kong" is no need to be 100% made in Hong Kong, some steps can be made in out of Hong Kong, only certain percentage (for example: let say 70-80%) of manufacturing process is in Hong Kong, then we can call it to be "Made in Hong Kong".

I am no a pro in Garment and Racket industry, so if possible, I hope some pro can advise.

I'm not any pro, but more or less in general "Made in" simply means that the final assembly of the product is done in the prescribed country. The most telling example is the world of cars, there you can have the design made in London, components manufactured from all over the world and the assembly line/fabric in Brazil, China, Germany or US. Anyone who knows how much "swedish" the Volvo V40 is? This supposedly "swedish" car is actually made by a company owned by Ford (= US), in a fabric in Belgium and the parts comes from.........But it will certainly be written "Made in Belgium" if anyone care to ask.
