Ok, well sometimes i see badminton rackets advertised as long or it says "long shaft" on the side, however when i put my racket next to the "long shaft" they're the exact same length. The long shaft and regular shaft are the exact same length. False advertising?

Perhaps they are only a few millimeters longer. However, if advertised as "long", I'd expect it to be a half centimeter or more longer.

there are a Couple of Possibilities.....

Is that so call Long shaft racquet a Fake? because most fake racquets are jus standard lenth
or is ur "regular" Shaft racquet also long? because they make racquets that are Longer, but it doesn't have to be long at the shaft, ie: Handle, cone, and Frame.

no, the long racket is real, if it was fake i dont no y they would even bother to fake such a crappy racket, the long racket is an mp 44:mad: , a horrible racket... bleck... the racket i compared it with had the exact length for everything. so weird.. oh well... i guess the shafts are all kinda "long" lol

I think somewhere in the forum there was an explanation towards Long Shaft racquet.... also there's the fact that the grip itself could be a bit longer than usual? check that out.... cause I think my Ti 8 is long in grip, not in shaft....

They may look the same.. but try to see where does each cone located when it is side by side on equal ground. Try and see.. :)

A long shaft racquet is not the same thing as a long racquet. You can have a long shaft racquet like the Yonex 800 Tour and yet it is shorter than a normal length racquet. A long shaft racquet means what it says. It never claims it is a long racquet. We cannot assume the two are the same.

no like when i compare shafts, i put them down side by side, and i put them so that the top end of the grips meet, gahh hard to explain, but basically i mean when i compare shafts i'm putting the shafts side to side not the racket, per se.. bleck

i don't think the claim is long shaft, but instead, long racket.

they say the racket is 10mm longer than usual, but they didn't say where the 10mm is coming from. it can be the handle, the shaft or the racket head. or a combination.

I don't understand your problem. A badminton racquet has a frame (sometimes called the head), a shaft, and a handle. The length of a racquet is measured from the top of the frame (head) to the butt end of the handle. A racquet's length is just this, without any reference to it's shaft or handle.
Your way of comparing the shaft length is meaningless and it is not related to the racquet's overall length at all.

I think he is comparing the length of the Shaft (From the T joint to the Cone) and saying rackets differ (or not differ) in Shaft length. Some rackets have Long written on them and he is thinking that Long means longer Shaft, which is not the case. Long means the racket OVERALL length is longer...

Easy enough to explain.

Consider two rackets of equal length, the AT700 and the AT800, yet the 700 has a long shaft.

How can this be when they are of the same length?

Because while the 700 has a longer shaft, the 800 has a longer grip.
