Cai/Fu won finally in the rubber set, 15-12, a hard fought win indeed. well done...should do their confidence and "maturity" some good, to come back and also lose the serve on matchpoint and then to get it back without having to set:)

ohmygosh! so many things going through my head upon seeing the results. i can't believe hafiz got trampled so quickly by shoji. i'm so proud of chen hong :D- the score's pretty impressive; didn't expect it of chenhong. and wow, roslin. porr zhou mi! :( come on, cai/fu, a few more hurdles. GRN-mia, why am i not surprised.

I think by now we're all immuned to surprises and upsets! Anything goes at those high levels and one sometimes gets quite dizzy, not of the heights but more of the thin air! :D

Shoji Sato is the giant killer this time.. I'm sure Japan got alot to say about him this time.
Here we go again. I get a good night's sleep, and Gade goes out.
It's not really an upset, though. Gade has always had trouble with Roslin. Roslin held a 4-3 head-to-head over Gade... and now it's 5-3. I would have liked to see that match, though, close to two hours long!
It's already over for Denmark in MS... When was the last time no Danish MS made it to quarter finals?
Malaysia is also having a terrible tournament in MD. All out!
As usual, the All England is full of surprises...

This must be the first time in many, many years that no Danish mens singles make it to the quarter finals.. for us in Denmark, the depressing fact seems to be that the current generation lead by Jonassen and Gade don't really have any younger Danish rivals.. so when this generation is done.. it could very well be that we just have to get used to not having any of our national players as part of the last 8.. just like we have to get used to now in Ladies singles after Camilla Martin has quit..
So thank you for the doubles.. where both Mogensen, Boe and others seem to be able to pick up when it is soon over for Eriksen/Lundgaard... and subsequently - but hopefully many years from now - JR/LARS...

what's with Zhang Ning today? lost a game against a no namer in the morning, now she is being stretched by Wong Mew Choo 11-7 / 10-10.
Actually, Ella Karachkova is no no namer!! She is a great player, both technically and tactically (though she lacks a little power to be really at the top).
She has been pregnant and not competing so much recently, but she already showed she was back to a very good level when she won Toulouse Open (A grade) last november.

When Misbun was training rosling to be the star, Peter Gade was the world Number 1. and they where watching videos and so on of peter gade. And Misbun was training Roslin just to beet Gade. He says that if you play gade in a match you win if it goes to more then 1h.
Same with Hafiz. When Misbun was training him Chen Hong was the World Number one thats why Hafiz always win over Chen Hong.
thats how Misbun explained it to me

Malaysia is also having a terrible tournament in MD. All out!
Next time, don't sleep in addition to not going out for lunch.
It's not that terrible for Malaysia in the MD. Choong/Chew are a scratch pair and had to face the in-form Cai/Fu in their first match. Tan/Ong are ok but were not good enough to beat Eriksen/Lundgaard, the world no 1. The only disappointment is Chan/Koo but they haven't really proved themselves much anyway, so expectation for them were not high to start with. So overall, the Malaysian MD performed to expectation, more or less.
Meanwhile, KJ and PG had high expectations piled on them, so their early ousters have to be very disappointing. But then again, that is the nature of the game nowadays.

Is that why Roslin used to lose in ealry rounds when he couldnt beat the other players then?:)
It is one way of training, but you have to beat everyone to win. Chen hong is easy from a tactical point of view to play, but difficult from the sheer quality of shot he plays (in short predictably but sublime) Lin has completley different chracteristics, less quality in his skills/technique, but more variety and faster.
