not to forget the 3rd match going on..

Olympics Gold medalists Zhang/Gao is being troubled by the Thai mixed pair Prapakamol/Thungthongkam. trailing 8-9 at the moment.

True, we may have to use the same strategy to tire up Chen Hong so Choon Hann can take advantage in the final. The only question is can Choon Hann get thru Lin Dan? May be have Choon Hann drag Lin Dan to rubber sets so Chong Wei can take advantage of that, ... Can Chong Wei beat Chen Hong? Tough games and Malaysians are the underdog, both players should call Li Mao tonight.

One factor against the Chinese is Zhao Tingting had earlier toiled in her XD match for 74 minutes and lost.
So, she could be physically and mentally drained.

Wong/Chin, go and capitalize this advantage!!!

At this rate, we won't see a Olympic final re-match. I think Robertson/Emms will be big favourites if ZJ/GL can't crawl back.

I think Robertson/Emms will be big favourites if ZJ/GL can't crawl back. mmm...well i guess the motivation to train may not be there anymore? anyways, i'm just hoping that ZJ is working on his smashing (and hopefully placement:D) and will peak at the WC anaheim:)

also audina - mori should be interesting....wonder is mori has enough in the tank to go 3 sets?

yeah. they have won the biggest one twice, but never won the second biggest one. that is what will keep them motivated if anything.

keep in mind that Gao Ling did play 60mins in the WD.

but then so did Saralee. the Thais are greatly improving lately. Saralee/Sathinee are already in the semi.

If i'm not mistaken.. this will be the best outing for Malaysian womens doubles event in All England. it does look that way. but a commendable effort nonetheless. one must take progress step by step as long as each step is forward or if backwards, one learns from it and make a bigger stride in the future.

14-8 to Wei/Zhao now.

Wei/Zhao beat Chin/Wong : 17-15 / 15-8.

Chin/Wong has a big comfortable lead in the first game, but unfornately they didn't capitalize on it but instead let Wei/Zhao inching back point by point. that may be due to lack of experience.

the scores for the Prapakamol/Thungthongkam/Zhang/Gao match is still listed as Now/active in the live scoreboard. usually when a match finishes, it gets moved to the Completed Match column. perhaps even the scorekeeper isn't believing what he/she is seeing.

It always happens with tournaments like this.. everyone is going the distance..

ctjcad
03-11-2005, 06:20 PM
Wow, IMO, this must be the biggest upset of the tourney, more so than PGade's lost. If I'm not mistaken, Zhang/Gao has been on a tear lately, winning or at least being in the Finals the last 2-3 of their tournaments. Gao must be really feeling it, esp. on her legs, playing all out the last several matches(incl. the German Open). Too bad for her and Zhang Jun.
On another note, it seemed like the Thais really took advantage, probably they were aiming at Gao Ling and making her work more than ZJ. Esp. with a straight sets victory, doesn't happen often to Gao/Zhang.
With Zhang/Gao out of the mixed, and not to count the other 2 pairs out, it looks more and more like the XD Final will be between England vs. Indonesia. If that happens, that should be one heck of a Final..:).

BTW, what's up with all the late night finishes. It's already past 12 pm in England and they're still playing?? Did they purposely started late to accommodate people coming back from work??..If anyone remembers, was last year's AE started and ended about the same time as this year's AE also??..

Anyway, should be one heck of a Semi-Finals day...:).

Go lee.. I would like to see him back on top, he deserves it and in my opinion Lin Dan has to learn that he isnt invincible, he has to gain some manners on court and learn what sportsmanship is all about
I personally agree with u Morten, this fella need to be taught a lesson...Its not about the skills or confident he has thats nothing wrong, but its about his respect to his opponent and the game. Now that Lee HI cant teach him a lesson lets see whether Wong CH can teach him :D
Whats the head to head record between WCH and LD??
