at least WCH is putting up a fight and LD is tiring - from 80 to 9-9 and fighting over who would get the next point. That will decide this set. y
lin blocked wong's net kill but was too long! wong 9-9..
who will get the first point?????
lin blocked out. wong lead 10-9!! crucial point after so many returns.
lin lifts out. 11-9.
lin leaves a lift in and hits the line. 12-9.
wong knows that lin is in trouble. 13-9.
wong kills at the net 14-9, game point!

indecisive at the back line by wong. 9-14.
lin is now moving wong to the forehand as well. wong smashes to the net. 10-14.
wong backhand drops wide. 11-14. wong is feeling the heat also.

Well, I think it's going to be one heck of a Final for MD. Actually Eriksen/Lundgaard Hansen were the winners of last year's MD. Too bad for Luluk/Alven, as they can't get past the Danes. I think this is the second time they've lost to the Danes in AE(last year Luluk/Alven lost in straight sets to them in AE also). Hmm, I wonder if the draws wasn't that unfortunate for the Indos. What would happen if Sigit/Candra were able to get into the QF and/or SF??....oh well, another disappointing finish to the Indos. Back to the drawing board and time for more training and refinement.
As for the Japanese squad, all these great performances would definitely boost their morale and confidence playing in their hometurf for the upcoming Japan Open next month. Esp. on the Ladies' side, 3 of them were able to get into the QF. And 1 was able to force Zhang Ning to a rubber set.
It's over!! JR - Paaske are through to the finals. The opportunity is still there for them to retain the MD title for Denmark. Well Done!!
JR/Paaske bt Luluk/Alven 15-13, 6-15, 15-11 after trailing for quite some time!! Amazing
towel break. wong has been doing lots of work and both must be tired.
wong is putting a bandaid on his left thumb at the sideline.
rear court block/drop by wong. lin couldn't get to it. 14-12.
lift out by lin. 15-12!!!!

Both are tired. LD smashed lesser in second set. WCH played patiently.
I don't think so. Thus, I didn't see Li Mao at German Open. I just saw Misbun, Yap KH. Park JB told me that there is still trouble among the Malaysian coaching staffs. not sure who he was. my video quality here is very poor. but some guy with a clean cut and a little bit chubbish face. those on TV can let us know. maybe it was misbun.

Thank God! I thought WCH was going to blow it like LCW and Alven/Luluk. Now not to repeated LHI's finish last night. At least a R-U at the Worlds should give the youngster a fight - a good fight. Hope LD is shaken and starts messing things up a bit. Y

i just took the risk and restarted. now i am back to full quality. hope it lasts... :)

lin smashes straight. lin serve.

I don't think so. Thus, I didn't see Li Mao at German Open. I just saw Misbun, Yap KH. Park JB told me that there is still trouble among the Malaysian coaching staffs.its the government's preference for local coaches. Hence the malaysian badminton federation is in a dilemma... they do need foreign coaches to raise the standard...
wong drops, hits the net, but didn't go over. 2-0.
amazing manipulation by lin. force a backhand clears that went shot and lin nailed it into the floor.
lin dove for wong's smash, got it back. but missed the next one. crowd is going crazy!
0-2
this can easily be the final.
lin really polished his forecourt net.
amazing rally by lin. well set up and finished with a xsmash. 3-0.
trick service return into the net by wong.
lifts out by wong. 5-0 Lin.
wong nets. 6-0.
still cannot tell who that guy next to Yap Kim Hock is.
Chinese looking guy, too skinny for Li Mao. definitely not misbun.
Lin completely fakes wong on a net lift. wong was on the forehand net, the shuttle at the backhand rear court!
6-0
0-6 now.

Looks like WCH instead of LD is having the 'reaction', a kind fo relief after the brave struggle in set 2, which means relaxing and unable to concentrate. Kaput. Y
lin nets and rolls over. 7-0

wong nets. 6-0.
still cannot tell who that guy next to Yap Kim Hock is.

two kills at the net by Lin. 8-0. change of courts.
Lin recovers and came out really sharp for the 3rd game. if he can last at this pace, he can win. he is still slower than 1st game, but playing smarter shots to move wong around more. briliant badminton.

Guys can someone tell me how the game ended? what was the reaction like~?
Lin played a very fast game. the chinese strategy has been to pressuer wong's backhand. they have been doing that for years and years. lin ran too fast and was exhausted by the 2nd half of the 2nd set. but recovers really well afterwards to completely destroy wong in the 3rd.
oh no. TV2 broadcast has finished. no more badminton. :( :(

Hello! Dear Friend

What a QFinals!! Let's hope the SFinals are as exciting (because I'm watching on tv).
MS
Lin Dan v Wong Choong Hann
Chen Hong v Lee Chong Wei
If Taufik were in, it would probably have been Lin v Taufik. As it is, he isn't, but in a tournament where he is the only notable absentee, the China v Malaysia SFinals do come as a surprise. Look who they had to beat to get to this point.
Lin Dan - Mehrabi, Oedum, Ghaffar and Lee HI (add Wong CH to the list, and it does seem kind of easy for him to get to an All-England final)
Wong - Jang, Chen Yu, Liao and Sato (on paper does not look that hard)
Chen - Lewis, Ohtsuka, Shon, Bao (had the hardest QFinal of the lot)
Lee - Moody, Kendrick, Kuan, Roslin (seems like having the easiest time)
It will be more exciting to see a China v Malaysia final, and since it will be hard for Wong, I will be rooting for Lee. I think he has a 50-50 chance, even though the head-to-head is 4-1 in Chen's favour (Chen won 2 out of 2 last year).
Prediction: Lin v Lee
WS
Zhang Ning v Eriko Hirose
Xie Xingfang v Mia Audina Tjiptawan
Xie is apparently at the top of her game, while we (those of us not watching live in Birmingham) don't know much of her own game Mia has discovered. Meanwhile, Eriko cannot be termed a giant-killer anymore because that would be implying she is not a giant. It may be early yet, but I think she is the next thing China has to worry about. She is the current thing Zhang has to worry about, and it takes something big to stop a big momentum.
Prediction: Zhang v Xie
MD
Ha Tae Kwon/Yim Bang Eun v Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun
Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen v Luluk Hadiyanto/Alven Yulianto
Denmark, China, Korea, Indonesia, each a piece. Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun looks most likely to advance.
Prediction: Fu/Cai v Luluk/Alven
WD
Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen v Gao Ling/Huang Sui
Wei Yili/Zhao Tingting v Saralee/Sathinee
The top 4 seeds.
Prediction: The top 2 seeds
XD
Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter v Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir
Nathan Robertson/Gail Emms v Sudket/Saralee
Only Saralee is involved in another match. Proves how much the XD is a specialised event. They are definitely going to put Robertson/Emms on the TV court, so we won't catch Thomas on TV, which is a shame because I have a feeling that it will be a very tight match.
Prediction: Widianto/Natsir v Robertson/Emms
All my predictions are chicken-out, going for the favourites (except possibly Lee CW who may be slight underdog). Going by the events so far this week, I hope half my predictions would be seriously challenged.
