With the main draws restricted to 32 for singles and 16 for doubles, many good players and pairs may lose in the qualifiers which is packed with talent and in this event, has dozens and dozens of Chinese youngsters and old cocks.
Few countries will have players in the Q-finals of any of the disciplines consdiering this army of Chinese players put into the qualifiers + those already in the main draw. Jacobo.

Hi,
if the "good players" lose in the qualifiers then they are not good enough on that day.Do u know if any television channel outside of china is telecasting it?

Well i think the only title(s) that are really threatened in the China Open is the MD and the MX.

If Candra/Sigit play their best, i doubt anyone can beat them whether their youngsters or old *****.

The MX is not really that threatened as China have Zhang/Gao. But Bambang/Minarti and Jens/Mette are pairs that have both beaten Zhang/Gao before so it will be tough this one.

With China's top MS, WS and WD players, no one will beat them.

This may be old news, but Camilla is out, by the way. Her withdrawal is (indirectly) due to the NYC attacks.

On that thread, I might add that I suspect she was just looking for a reason to drop out of Chinese Open, since the Chinese have dropped out of the upcoming Danish Open...

Glad you qualified yourself Mag, otherwise you could get a lot

of hostile posts for implying that China is capable of terrorism

too.The statement by Americans that China is harsh on Tibet is

misleading,it is very much an internal affair going back

centuries and it is precisely a way to curb medieval religious

fanatism that you see elsewhere in other forms and practised

by some holier than thous.Terrorism is a crime period.

Good for you Bbn, I am surprised how well informed you are about China and Tibet. Its those Americans and western busybodies and do-gooders who know nothing about the past and think they are doing the Tibetans a great deed, who are casing all the toruble. Why don't they sort out their affairs at home instead of coming out here and being such a pain in the A3333. Many of those in things like Amnesty In. and Tibet Watch etc cannot make it anywhere at home so they make their living drumming up opposition and creating aniusance of themselves.
BTW how come you people are so up to date about Camila and the Chinese withdrawing from the Danish Open? Are you sure Camila is not back out to avoid facing another 4 or 5 Chinese opponent in succession? Jacobo

I am not anti American.I think it's fair to say that a lot of people

are having a phobia towards flying.

"it is very much an internal affair going back centuries"

I love most of what you say, Bbn but "internal" and "external" are largely relative as well.

I hate to disagree with you Bbn, but I didn't see anything in Mag's post tt even vaguely implied China was capable of terrorism. I've had enough of ppl reading too much into what others say. Please get a life, folks (I don't mean you, Bbn).

whilst in US don't join groups harping on issues lke :

1) The South will rise again

2) Remember the Alamo

3) Custer's last stand etc etc

Avoid also the infamous clan. The West stands for democracy up to a limit, short of imposing one's will on others even when unprovoked or practising terrorism, extortion or murder.
