View Full Version : Anyone play at University of Houston?
bluejeff 03-26-2005, 09:57 PM Hi, I am just wondering if Badminton is popular in University of Houston (the main campus in Houston, TX) ?
I just got accepted into the master program there, and I am just trying to see if Badminton is available there before I make my final decision :)

well, I didn't apply schools there so I couldn't go there. :(
I am now in the process looking an apartment in Houston (near downtown if possible), and I think I am going to move there in July if there is no other surprises.
FEND. 04-19-2005, 04:21 AM So are you moving everything there? Including the badminton cupboard? And what bout your girlfriend? And the racquets she uses??

I will take everything except my gf to Houston :p
(she is going to stay here herself. Yeah!! All my rackets are finally back to me!!)
I will be moving to houston around the end of July/beginning of August. Now, it's time to look for badminton courts.... :)

Hey Poeple from Houston,
I'm from San Jo, CA....visiting Houston on Aug 6-13. I'd like to find places to play during my visits. Can't live w/o badminton for a week. I'm staying at my cousin's place..somewhere Northwest of Houston abt 1hr away. Any recommendations. I'm about a upper C player...I think.

Welcome to the nicest weather in the US !!!!!
Thanks. :)
I went to the club yesterday and it was nice. (BTW, the tagging system is good, I have never seen anything like it :)) I was able to play two sets (4 games) because I was late (due to getting lost on the roads :p). I am sure I should be able to play 3 sets (6 games) or more if I go there ontime next week.
About Houston weather.....it's just way too hot. I was moving boxes under the temperature of 104F and I had to wear Very Cool shirts to keep my body cool. Certainly not a fun thing to do.
However, Houston is a very convenient place to live, especially I have all the stores I need nearby. Even the Honda service center is right in front of me, 6 flags right besides me, and wal-mart/kroger/target all in the same area, I have to say so far I like houston a lot! :)
malayali 08-06-2005, 09:10 PM You'll like it more once you start finding out things are a bit cheaper than other places....
Although it is hot(too hot) right now, wouldn't it be really nice to not deal with snow during winter, at all !!!!
Thanks. :)
