Only 8 places for WS, MD, WD, and XD? Is it a knockout format or a round-robin group format? It will be interesting to see a round-robin tournament with 4 players in a group. This will make it a very competitive tournament from the group stage to the final stage. My preference: MS: 3 group matches with the winners(and perhaps runners-up) qualifying for the quarter-final. Knockout format from quarter-final to final. Maximum games = 6 games for winner --> equivalent to most tournaments WS-XD: 3 group matches with the winners qualifying for the semi-final. Winners and runners-up qualify for the semi-final. Knockout format for semi-final and final. Maximum games = 5 games for winner, which is again equivalent to most tournaments. SmartCivet 07-31-2005, 01:28 AM So, this is like the Copenhagen Master, which is an invitational tournament? What about the other disciplines? Only 8 places for WS, MD, WD, and XD? 16 Places for WS, 8 places for MD, WD, and XD. the China master is not fully like the Copenhagen Master, it is not an invitational tournament, the players entry is according to the world ranking. And the biggest difference is that the China master is 6 start tournament, the players can get many world ranking records. SmartCivet 07-31-2005, 07:09 AM maybe something of what I said is not sure. I see some reports. It said there will be some entries for qualifier who is lower ranking. DaN_fAn 07-31-2005, 08:30 AM maybe something of what I said is not sure. I see some reports. It said there will be some entries for qualifier who is lower ranking. I think it will be based on ranking and there will be limited no. of entries[fewer] or it would not be a 'masters' tournament ,would it? could u confirm and tell us more.
