broken nanospeed 7000

hey guys i neeed ur help. i just recently bought a nanospeed 7000 but had a little accident with it. this dumbass that i had to play with during class smashed it with one of the schools racquet (big, ugg, and damn heavy)... the racquet went flying outta my hand ...when i examined it, i found that the shaft was cracked :crying: ah man this is really sad cuz it was a new one ... any ideas as to what i should do? thanks

If it is a genuine accident, there is not much you can do. If it is not, you should cry murder and claim a new one of the culprit.

i will get revenge but im just wondering if i can still glue the shaft to prevent it from completely breaking off. sholud i try gluing it? if so what kind of glue?

There is no way you can glue it back; It's gone.

That's why I used the school racquets when I had to play badminton during class.

that's why always have cheap useable racket handy for those not so important doubles game. unless it is worth it, only then bring out the expensive racket.

if u can snap a photo and post it here, we might give a better opinion on the repair. Anyway, i think in this case, the culprit should pay at least 50% of the cost. 100% would be nice but if it was an unintentional accident, it should be 50/50. A lesson for both party unfortunately.

The thing is, both of you guys took chances of rackets being clashed when you two agreed to play doubles together. If it is his racket which is broken today, would you pay for it?

I wouldn't ask the other side to pay for anything unless he intensionally tried to break your racket. Such as: The shuttle is flying high in the air and you were ready to smash it at the ready position on the court. All the sudden, he jumped in and pushed you away and clashed with you. This is where you should ask him to spare the cost.

While using your racquet to play the game you accepted the fact that your racquet could get damage.

If he intentionnaly broke it then its understandable but I don't think revenge and makign it big will be fair from you.

Breaking rackets in a game is common. But unfortunately no one will pay to replace the racket for you. Unless if that guy take ur racket and smash it on the floor. If breakage due to clash.. well just need to say bye bye to your racket.

I think your friend ripped you off, no offense ;) . Accidental racket clashes are part of playing doubles... people with 'cheaper' or any racket for that matter shouldn't be penalized if someone's expensive toy gets dinged up.

But shadow's partner was using a school racquet. What I mean is, if I use a school racquet, I'll play recklessly since the racquet is the school's ^^.

But it also depends on what kind of accident it was. If YOU went over to HIS position and hit HIM.... Then you shouldn't ask him back for the money lol. If it's the opposite, then do whatever to get your money back.
However if it was an ACCIDENT.... And I mean accidents as in the shuttle flew to the middle and you both hit it.. Then it depends what kind of personality your partner has. If he's those cheap guys who doesn't care, then he will not intend to pay for it. But if that was your friend, then probably.

Let's err on the side of personal responsibility, for argument's sake. You have a shiny new Nanospeed 7000. Your partner has a school racket. Posters here have pointed out that with a school racket, you'd tend to play recklessly cause:

(a) it's not a personal racket
(b) it's a school racket.

Tell me, why didn't you put away your Nanospeed, and get a backup racket instead?
