Has anyone gone to the Wikipedia entry for badminton? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badminton

I reckon that we could probably contribute to the notes. Some stuff that are missing includes: Tournaments, Key Figures (Players)

Also some misconceptions (e.g. Other Types of Serves include the Clear). :)

Talking about misconceptions, Yonex's history (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yonex) is mainly about fishing equiptment.

Yonex is a Japanese manufacturer of badminton equipment, making racquets, shoes, and everything in between. The company was founded in 1946 by Minoru Yoneyama as a producer of wooden floats for fishing nets. The company was later forced out of this market because of the invention of plastic floats.

Did you mean nylon shuttles (for example, Yonex Mavis 300?)

I think the shuttle posted by cooler is the type used for backyard badminton.

Or speedminton (with those cool glow-in-the-dark rods)!

I was about to mention that I found Badminton on wikipedia, but then a voice in my head was sorta whispering like a ghoul on my shoulder "search the forums first!"

And whatdya know, someone did mention it before me:rolleyes:

But it looks like the article has been slightly expanded.

Did the update for winners of world championships since 1977.

I think we can actively do some work on the badminton entries there.

Perhaps we could sticky this somewhere? I can't believe that the some of the entries are totally blank.

We could actually organise some work on Wikipedia there:

Player Profiles ie Zhao Jianhua, Candra/Sigit, Kim/Ra
National Organisations ie PBSI, BAM
Trivia/Statistics ie Fastest smash, most wins, most trophies, left hander of China
Important Tournaments ie TC, AE; and winners

And thanks to our members, we also have some copyright-free photos.
