Good for Mia. She should play more and challenge the Chinese players seriously. At present, the moment any of the top 5 Chinese women are in the draw, the non-Chinese players seem aim only for the quarters. Only very occasionally do you get someone in the semis.
As expected the young Chinese men did better than their seedings - Lin Dan in the quarters, Chen Yu in the semis and Bao Chunlai (WJC) in the finals. When you consider that Lee Tsuen Seng took 6 years to win hsi first 2* tourney and Lin and Bao at 18 and 19 respectively are already nearly there in 6-8 months. Again, look where Khoo Kay Bin the WJC semi finalist of 1998, Agustinus and Doncorro the finalists in 1998 & 200 respectively, are now, by comparison. This really describes the gap in training and motivation between China and all the other countries.Simply, there are no free lunches and no substitute for hard work no matter what your talent is.
John.

Yeah and she won using a non-Yonex racquet! She is being sponsored by Winex and they have issued two limited edition Swing Power racquets in honor of Mia. The difference between the two is the weight (3U and 4U) for offensive and defensive players respectively.
