I personally wear short shorts like professional badminton players and t shirts/polos that have sleeves no longer than half of my bicep.

Sometimes I see good players wearing long shorts/shirts which looks really annoying.

How do you wear your clothes?

On the outside of my body :D

Generally comfortable is best and in that case it doesn't matter what you wear as long as it fits the purpose it is required for.

I'm still in that phase that I thinking just looking at short shorts is uncomfortable for me haha, although I know it serves a good purpose. But personally, I wear anything that's not too loose and not too constricting. Loose bball shorts or sometimes shorter shorts about above knee length. As for shirts, any white tshirts will do for me, except for the undershits because they're a little too tight and constricts on the arm movement.

Sometimes I see good players wearing long shorts/shirts which looks really annoying. All my clothes are yonex short shorts and yonex/gosen/blacknight polos or t-shirts.
I have a few gosen and blacknight long sleeve warm up shirts.
Plus a couple of yonex track suits and warm up jackets.
I actually have a dedicated closet to badminton clothes.

but i don't care if people wear long shorts and dirty beer shirts. It doesn't annoy me.

haha

I played in a suit once. I took the jacket off and it was still little constricting but classy ;)

I wear anything that's pretty much comfortable to wear. I don't want any skin type clothing or anything that's just too big. i like my shorts level with or a bit above my knees. Nothing too short because then I wouldn't feel comfortable. If my shorts are too long, then they restrict my movement. I'm picky about my clothes...they need to match and be the right size...

i usually wear basketball shorts just below the hip and below the knee in length, its more comfortable for me since the waist band isn't hugging that tight. as for a shirt, any will do as long as it isn't too big where its baggy so that its below my elbow or getting in the way of a swing

I wear the least expensive crew-neck coton shirts (US$12.50 for 4 shirts of different colours) and cotton shorts (US$3 each) or polyester shorts (US$3 each, in air-conditioned courts). I used to wear the more expensive Yonex or Nike shirts but I find my present "cheapies" much more comfortable. Eventually, I gave away my Yonoex and Nike stuff to friends who did not mind having them. :D

usually a cotton shirt underneath, not too tight.

one of those "dri-fit" nike shirts or any shirt with that material (polyester?)

bball shorts, that arent too loose, length at knee cap

In Malaysia it may be okay ... elsewhere, it's hmmm, "impolite"? Sibu is king to the "kampua" noodle dish! :D

as for me used to wear basketball shorts, well it didnt look to nice on court. i also couldn't lunge properly.

switched to using speedo beach shorts (those that dry out quickly) but i find them too "flappy" (for the lack of a better term)

using a Chao Pai, short shorts now. the fabric used stretches! :) I'm very comfortable with it now.

i've used only dri-fit and climalite/cool shirts. I now have a Mizuno sports shirt. Similar to the other "technologically advance" shirts.

I swear by those Nike compression T's and Nike short shorts. All Dri-fit materials. I don't wear 100% cotton stuff anymore. Also got a Victor and a Yonex polyester polo-shirts (bought them mainly for their designs:o). Has anybody ever try out those UnderArmour stuff? They look really good (especially if you have the physique:D) but oh so expensive:(.

Shoes: Mizuno Lightning (current), ASICS GEL VTR (new).

I just bought one today, can't wait to test out the dri fit technology. I sweat like no tomorrow, and if this stuff really works, thank god.

Nope... just them. Why wear another shirt over them? That would inhibit the wicking material as the perspiration wickered from your body would just stay on top of the compression T instead of drying off. To stay dry, you have to move more:p. If you sweat alot, be prepared to bring a dirt rag to wipe off sweat spots on the court:p.

I find that compression T's are also better than regular t-shirts in that they don't hinder my motion. As I have lost some weight, lots of my regular 100% cotton t-shirts become slightly over-sized. I find it very uncomfortable to play in them as my sweat sticks to me after an intense game or two.

BTW, "UnderArmor" is a brand name company that makes those ultra thin compression apparels. Don't think anybody would wear them on the inside of another Tees... maybe under football or hockey gear:D.

My Yonex coolfit shirts and Yonex knee length shorts is comfortable enough for me...

carlol
06-29-2005, 03:33 AM
shorts: not more than knee length, but not shorter than 3 inches above the knee, usually tennis or bball type nike shorts.

shirts: plain white, with company logos (hardware stores and gasoline stations, given away free) or with collar, still with corporate logos, still given away free, mostly as giveaways in local badminton tournaments :p Generally not too loose, sleeves never longer than elbow level.

After reading many of the replies on BC, I've done two things to minimize sweat:

1) Got Dri-Fit/Cool Fit/Vaportek/MaxDry/Moisture-Wick: 100% microfiber polyester T-shirts and Tank Tops.

2) Wear a wrist band. :p

Now, I don't have to bring 5 shirts and constantly change them. Thanks for the info. :)

So now I wear loose fit microfiber polyester top and shorts. Now if they only made microfiber underwear... ...:p

T-Shirt with Knee Length Shorts, all loose fitting.

I wear basketball shorts with any shirt on top really. There was this one time however, I annoyed the whole gym by coming in with my jeans, Adidas T-shirt and jacket. Then I annoyed my opponent when I started talking on my cell phone and playing at the same time and still beat him...I'm a jerk. :D

I just wear cotton shirts then a pair of no-branded black shorts about the right length for badminton. I used to wear longer shorts and basketball shorts for badminton, but I quit doing that and decided to get something more suited for badminton. If it's too long, then it's uncomfortable thus it affects my play..

You guys must spend lots of money on equipment.
I am just a sophomore in high school and don't mind playing in normal t-shirts and my soccer shorts, and also since I don't have enough money to pay for all the dri-fit stuff.
For special occasions I'll put on my pair of Underarmour Compression Shorts , they're not actual shorts more like briefs/spandex that breathe really well. and my soccer shorts over that

Sometimes i wear my birthday suit :D:D:D:D

other than that I also have three yonex shirts (two good ones, one.. ugh.. see through when wet), and three pairs of my old high school sports short. I feel my old high school's sport shorts is really light + comfy.. better than those shorts made specially for badminton.
