Anyone know how high the climb is?
P.S.: Is it just my gutter mind or does it look like Chen Hong's ogling you-know-who's behind all the way up the hill? :D

well i remember in that article about gong zhichao, they said how normally it takes tourists 2 hours to walk, but they can finish it in 18 minutes....

Yeah, mountain/hill sprinting builds up your endurance very fast. Even a walk up the hill can be taxing and beneficial. Key is to do it regularly... like minimum of twice a week.
Man, seeing this picture really inspires me to take to trekking the hills in my neighbourhood. I live uphill on a very steep slope. Maybe I should start doing them early in the morning:).

they're mountain climbing with latest yonex gear
yonex is getting lot of exposure, now as a mountaineering gear supplier
i recall that gong zhichao does this climb wearing jacket with sanded pockets :D
You can do it if there is a mountain near your hse for fitness and stamina. Another alternative is to run the threadmill with vertical incline. If not , just run up the stairs of the offices.

i "tot" they were climbing up the great wall :)
the Malaysians used to climb up the batu caves 200+ stair steps and running along the beach for training... dunno whether is it still carrying on?

Maybe it was scrapped off? But our players should go for these kinds of training to toughen themselves up. I still feel they're like concrete which is about to harden but cannot harden...

yes, there are 'many' more benefits of hill running than just tread milling

There is an interesting report about this training. I will try to translate it.
...
finally it was time to go home. players brought out all kinds of food. lin dan had a bite on a baked sweet potato, asking xin xingfang "want some?", xin beauty shaked her head, smiling. gao ling, holding a banana, said to chen hong, "i am faster than hou, hehe...". bao held a full bag of pickled apricot, distributing around. Several coaches handed players the tickets to the park (the mountain is part of the park), asking for their signature.

Do the players get timed for their climb?
Doesn't look like the Ming Section of the Great Wall. I am not even sure if this is the Great Wall. Is this mountain just outside of Beijing?

:D I can't even think about the consequences. Imagine the domino effect from the top to the bottom. Just imagine good old Dave watching with his telescope: he is in his apartment enjoying his favourite boiled beef. He sees some dudes rolling straight down and some fall backward causing a chain reaction  :p .

It is not the great wall. It is a mountain inside a park near beijing. The mountain is not very high, but it is not easy to climb up either. It has a nick name called "even ghost worries".;)

Nah, Dave will fall asleep if he participates in VRC's Monday ladder. It's totally boring :D . He gets at most 3 games during two hours of competition. Might as well fill in with spicy boiled beef :D .
