View Full Version : Help, Armortec Ti60000
abihasa 05-16-2005, 05:32 AM Hi to everyone, i'm just a newbie and i'd like to ask a few questions. I've read the article about the serial number of the Yonex racquets, and i;m just wondering why the racquet being sold to me has none on the shaft when it is totally new? Is this possible? The serial number i only have is the one on the cone. Is there even an Armortec TI 60000? It says that it uses microcarbon as material and has pentium technology? Can you guys help me, this is really urgent... By the way it says that it is made in Japan....
Hope you guys can help me coz i know that you are the experts.
Thanks in advance
PS
I posted pictures as well

Pasch 05-16-2005, 05:59 AM fake, but pretty nice design !! :o
tr1n1trotolu 05-16-2005, 06:55 AM yeah... i have seen that racket before here in toronto when i first saw it, it thought it was a beta type armortec. sorry to tell you, but it is a fake. though its a fake, its a racket and you can use it still. all depends on the user :)
J_M_V 05-16-2005, 07:47 AM Definately a fake (nice one though). Tip: if the serial number on the cone is not engraved then it is always a fake. This one seems to have a painted serial number.
Incognito 05-16-2005, 08:29 AM I like how its Pentium powered :p
J_M_V 05-16-2005, 08:42 AM I like how its Pentium powered :p
Microcarbon Pentium Technology :D :p  ... Somebody's really fishing with fancy words. Why not add xeon, dual core, fullerene and cryogenic treatment in the mixture :p .
HKChua 05-16-2005, 08:43 AM I like how its Pentium powered :p
Most likely the fake's design is done on a Pentium computer....:D

Thanks for the info. Yet it weighs at around 84g (as it says). It may be a good racquet for practice, but i dont know... well, might as well buy a new one. An original one i might add...
My friend told me his bro bought it in Vietnam, there may be a lot of fakes there huh.... Anyway, may this be a warning to all before buying a new yonex...
silentheart 05-16-2005, 06:55 PM Wow! Pentium @6Ghz. This must be a top secret design fro Intel... Does it over heat very often?
cooler 05-16-2005, 07:26 PM i got a good chuckle out of this fakes.
it's so powerful it has two trademark logo on it, yonex and pentium :D

Neosakai 05-16-2005, 09:57 PM How much was this racquet?
silentheart 05-16-2005, 10:29 PM Check out the date code. Made in 2008? WOW! Back to the Future 4! I got to meet the seller and ask him about the next winning Lottery number. If I win, I will share with Kwun for setting up this forum.
bluejeff 05-16-2005, 10:52 PM How much was this racquet?
If you buy it online in China, it would be around $12~15 USD.
Neosakai 05-17-2005, 09:25 PM I'd like one for that price ..
$10 for armortec ti60000000000000000000000000000000 is much bettter than some wilson racquet from walmart :D
cooler 05-18-2005, 12:09 AM I'd like one for that price ..

r u sure?
$10 armortec tends to fly faster than the shuttle :D
crosstrainer 05-18-2005, 03:03 AM such a pretty looking racket... they should have done away with the yonex branding and invented their own brand, like calling it yonox or yonix or something :) they'd probably sell more units that way...
aerotus70 05-18-2005, 03:11 AM :D :D :D :D :D /:D :D :D :D :D
for the racket.
speedy 05-18-2005, 12:14 PM It's definitely 100% fake. As a matter of fact I had seen one Armortec Ti3500 last week bought by one of our club members. It had serial numbers on the shaft and on the cone but as usual, not engraved. There's also a serial number at the cap.
But one thing that's strange, that fella really plays well with it:eek:
I thing fakes have improved in quality. Paint job also quite nice.

The problem for fake is, there's no consistant standard. Some are useable, but most are just crap, and could be broken easily. The intention for fake is to use the name and color to fool the buyers, therefore, no one will really care about the quality = very cheap and crappy stuff to begin with in most cases. :(
Neosakai 05-19-2005, 10:38 PM I agree with the post above.
I used a fake MP99 with yonex "ribbed grip" <-- even grip is fake :D..
The racque was SOOO fake yet I'm the only one who noticed it? :S
It has no black grommet strip near the t-joint, and the serial saids the racquet was produced in 2001.
I didn't tell the racquet owner that the racquet was fake because no one would believe me lol.
Some fakes are good, like the fake MP99 i've tried. It was better than my real MP30... It was VERY light yet it saids 2U :rolleyes:

could it be that some MP rackets (high end ones) dont have the special MP strip for whatever reason?   cuz one of my coaches had an MP 100 with no MP strip, when i tried it it felt like what an MP 100 was supposed to feel like (more power than my AT800DE, heavy, etc) (never used a MP100 before), the paint job looks real (a few chips in the outer layer of the paint), everything else looks real, grommets are ok, 2UG5 sticker looks ok, its quite old. its a CD racket (canadian) btw, and the serial numbers appear to be engraved (check next time)
anyone seen anything like it? everything looks real but the MP strip is gone.. i haven't heard of anyone faking CD rackets either

did you try searching:
"mp100 mp strip"
?
TrunkZ69 05-21-2005, 05:24 AM It could just be he's used it for awhile and the strips may have been removed from damage. Its not unusual, MP100's have been discontinued for awhile in NA.
I've seen people remove them and put them on other rackets for fun btw :p

sorry, that's my ignorance :o i guess one learns something new every day :) (or every night :D )

I'm just taunting around about the fakes. It's so obvious there's nothing worthy of it. Actually to me, I would'nt use a fake racquet even if it's free!:)
By the way the fake racquet belonging to the friend of mine is not Ti3500 but Ti35000 which means that it's a relative to the Ti60000. But it does not specify the "microcarbon" speed whether pentium or celeron.;)
