ok, turns out there is a shop near me that sells badminton rackets- but only carlton. i had spent ages looking at yonex and worked out what i was getting etc, then i found this shop. so what is a half decent carlton beginner/intermediate racket for around 30 pounds?

carlton makes fantastic racquets. just because their marketing and PR departments lack, doesn't mean their racquets also lack.

how about you tell us what is available at your store, first?
the thing i notice about the sales are carltons are that the racquets can sit around for a long while.

i think if someone looked hard enough, they might find older racquets from a good few years back, such as the as-ti and such still at some stores, all the way up the newest range.

oh well too late- my dad bought one................................only problem is- we cant identify what exactly it is! i have searched all over the internet but i just cant find it. i think it is old stock. all we can work out is that is from the "airblade" series.......can anyone tell me what it is and what its specs are? it has the following markings-
-"Carlton"
-"Airblade" in red writing on the frame and white/black on the shaft
-"premium graphite" in white on the shaft and black on the frame.
-"maximum air speed" at the top of the frame in black
-serial no. TKB00219QR on shaft and bottom of grip.
-black and silver paint job

on the piece of card that was attachted to the strings it said"airblade-The Edge-" - thats not the model name is it??

could someone help identify it? i could post pics if that helps......

sounds like the base model airblade they made a few years back.
while i'm not sure, it might be safe to say that the racquet should be around 90-95g in weight, with an even balance.

this racquet will be absolutely fine for learning the sport.

sounds similiar to the original rasmussen airblade to me, but maybe not a rasmussen spec model

What color is it? Green? Post a picture it might help identifying it.

Carlton make very good racquet and I hear their costumer service is very good also.

From your description I think it's lower Carlton airblade series. Airblade 400 I think.
