View Full Version : Head light racquets with stiff shafts?
baddyfan1989 06-15-2005, 04:37 AM I was thinking of getting a racquet that is head light and has a stiff shaft. I have tried my friend's Ti-7 (which is also head light and has a stiff shaft if i am not wrong :o ) and i find that i can play quite relatively well. Any recommendations other than nanospeed 7000? Nanospeed 7000 is way too expensive for a student like me. :crying:
LouisW 06-15-2005, 04:48 AM i'm currently using this APACS Nano-Power 505 as my defensive racquet.
Characteristic : Head Light with Medium Stiff Shaft.
However, it does not produce powerful smashes.:(

FEND. 06-15-2005, 06:50 AM Get a ti-7 for yourself then!! Easy solution. And I'm quite sure they're much much cheaper than NS7k!!
chickenpoodle 06-15-2005, 10:20 AM heh, i personally thought extra stiff yonex racquets such as the ns7, ns8, ti7, were still rather flexible when compared to some of the carltons...

I recommend you to use nanopower produced by Apacs, it has the same effect like the yonex. However it is more cheaper than yonex.
Neosakai 06-15-2005, 03:58 PM I suggest the carltons as well. The oval head ones. So while it's a a head light, you can still do decent smashing.:D

That's a racket that I designed couple months ago. It's now in production.
baddyfan1989 06-15-2005, 10:22 PM Thanks for all the recommendations! :p I will search for the racquets mentioned. Hopefully i will be able to find these racquets at the shop so i can get a feel of it. ;)

I second that. I have a APACS nanopower 7000. Took some time to get used to it (it is head light and slightly shorter than my Winex AT800Def). Strung at 24lbs, I find clearing quite at ease and smashing good. Less than S$80 in Singapore. You can find one @ Toa Payoh Safra Tel: 62538858 (Not promoting for them, but that is where I usually string) I got mine in JB though.

I have one APACS Nanopower 7000, it hit the bird only two times, yes, after that I switched back to my Nanospeed 7000. If anyone interested, I can leave it at SAFRA Toa Payoh Classic Sports. I am willing to sell at S$40/-
Thanks.
