Robertson and Emms are struggling at the moment..They lost to a Thai pair in the QF of the SO and now to an up-and-coming Chinese pair in the SF...Sure they've reached the Semis for the 1st time since winning @ Swiss Open this past March, but from what i see, I have a feeling with the departure of Rexy, it could affect the way they are playing...Furthermore, it seemed like they are struggling playing out in Asian countries(well most European players are)..
Come WC, eventhough playing in the U.S., if they don't prepare well, they might not even win that one as well..

By the looks of things, come end of Finals it could be an all China sweep...Unless the Koreans, Malaysian, and Indos play hard and pull one, two or three out.. :rolleyes:

I dont think the factor is age if we discus the reason why Gade lost today. He has beaten 4 world class players on his way to the semi final and one day played against roslin and Wong. Thats tough stuff and Lin Dan on the other hand got a WO and a easier draw. Before the match he was fresh and Gade tired... I think LCW has a fair chance tomorrow. Taufik and Gade has shown how to troble Lin, by attacking him constantly and not lifting the shuttle high

i don't think it is impossible. LCW has slowly grown up in the past year. still a bit impatient like all youngsters. he has the best technique than all other Malaysian MS players past years/decades. a very complete player with very sterile techinque like what the Chinese are known for. with proper grooming (ie. Li Mao) i think he will go further than any other Malaysian have gone, and doing it more consistently too.

in a way it is true. even though from the technical point of view it is interesting like i said, but from the rivalry and fans point of view, there isn't a particular reason to cheer for one side or the other. unlike say, a LinD vs. Taufik match.

the fact that the Chinese WD players are so complete, ie, they can make all the shots with clinical accuracy doesn't help either, as now all the shots quality are really "to the book", and thus winning requires more smartness and consistency, which is not what the average joe badminton watcher can understand. if one is a badminton player, then one should appreciate each shot made in WD, as you can tell that each smash and drop and clear are done for a reason and purpose.

gosh... i thought i was going to have a heart attack...

start of the match, i didn't have a favorite... but as the match progressed, i found myself rooting for candra and sigit. amazing win. whew. i'm glad i rooted for the winner. hahahahahaha.

candra and sigit are in great shape. they may be less explosive as from 3/4 years ago, but they're smarter and more stable now. can't believe they're 29 years old (arguably "retiring" age for asians) and they're still hanging tough like they're 24 or 25 years old. ;)

my girlfriend is sooo happy. her fave, candra won, and her crush, lin dan is up next. hahahaha :D
