Except for Martin, the top 8 WS places are taken by Chinese and the oldest (26), Zhang Ning and Wang Chen are 2nd and 6th respectively. Even the lowly No.26, Tang Chunjue has a track record and titles second to none of the non-Chinese players ranked above her. And there are the WJC's and SF's from Dec 1999 still to come on tap. All fine physical specimens and nubile.
This shows how deceptive the ranking system is; it also means there is nothing interesting to look forward to. I'd like to put some new life into the women's game.
How about China starting a breeding farm like the UAE did with horses - they had astounding world-beaters within 5 years and are still tops and producing like mad.
God forbit that it will go like the Singapore plan to match-make brilliant single women with talented bachelors, who were allegedly slowlly going to seed alone in front of their TV with doll-noodle or roti-channai take-away dinners.
My plan does not involve marriage or residence in a prison-like traiining camp.
We could then people this world with little Gade-Zhous, Budiarto-Gongs, Xia-Martins etc for our future entertainment. You know - like the little Agassi-Graf.
Any former or wannabe greats among you badminton maniacs ready to go to stud?
E-mail me with cv and vital stats if interested. John.

sounds quite bitter there John.

i believe most of us here are proponents of fair competitions. if you think that the Chinese are good, don't whine about it, show what you are made of and kick the Chinese' butt. if you can't, well, work hard, some day it will be possible.

the Indonesians are dominating the men's double right now, and you don't see Chinese supporters go calling other people breeders and stuff like that. if you are losing, go home, work on it, and come back stronger. and win like a winner, not lose as a whiner.

Astounding how people react to or interprete a comment which is meant to be comic about the Chinese domination of the sport. Seems to be going all in one direction - so many apparently feel personally or nationally aggrieved. In fact that is exactly what Agassi and Graff said - they were producing a master gene in that baby whome they expect to be a champion. QED. John.

I just thought, it was really funny (go on, John).

But actually I've noticed the same phenomenon:
As long as you don't add "lol", "he, he" or smileys
some people obviously have problems to notice,
when something is meant ironically.

BTW:
I'm just working on an astounding theory about
how clothing habits (remember this "collar up" stuff)
can influence your game and will come up with some
incredible results in the near future.

Mate!

There are 2 ways of looking at it! I saw Xia on Tv paying That malayasian Ming today! I think It is abt EGO! If ur opponent thinks too much or strives too much then it is the nest thing to do! Hit at his EGO! There are 2 ways ot reacting! On ehe will step up or he will strive harder for shots that are not in his Repertoire!

I know that cricketers Downunder wear it that way to keep their necks from getting frost bitten or getting a Big neck Muscle pull!

I dunno how much that would affect u when u play in a airless Hot place! As to the john comment i also call the chinese badminton machinery as Chinese talent factory! But then i dont think it si Because of mating or cloning!

What we shoudl remember is that Steffi or Agassi's parents are not great players and i know very very few DAD son greats!

Whatever steffi and Agassi might assume, It is still dependent on a lot of things!

If you were not Chinese, it might sound funny.
If you do happen to be Chinese, it sounds insulting.

Your cultural insensitivity has hit a raw nerve despite your attempt at amusement.
No point in criticising people for not having a sense of humour.

It wasn't funny.

On a side note, Yogi:

You should really get that period key on your keyboard fixed. :)

Stupidity deserves no answer and bad manners cannot be blamed on people who never learnt what a civil tongue means. Your responses were hilarious if they were not so pathetic. John.
