Aww!!! What are the chances of that. The year they move the tournament to an earlier date, is the year that they clash with my exams and now my first visit to the all-englands will have to wait another year, probably.:crying:

I'm gonna be there with my club to watch and learn from the best.
Missed out last couple of years due to lack of money so will make sure I'm sorted when the invite goes out this year.

Yeah, my dad said he might take me, but now it's gonna be smack in the middle of exam week :(

..it should be interesting to see how the scoring system will be played out in next year's AE and to a certain extent the rest of the 2006 tournaments(ie. TC & UC in Japan, WC and the rest of the tourneys).

I don't know how much of an effect it will be, maybe not much, but perhaps, all the players that will attend the upcoming World Cup Invitational will adapt and get used to the new scoring system "better". And they would probably be the ones "ready" for the scoring system change, to be implemented @ the start of next year's IBF calendar year.

Anyone here still remember how the scoring system change, a few yrs. ago, affected IBF and it's tourneys as a whole??..I bet not many people embraced the change..

Anyhoo, just some ramblings from me.. :p

Looking forward to it.

Hmm...thats kind of unlikely?? He has officially declared the All England title as the only title that he craves. If he plays in the Swiss Open and has no injury problem, why should he skip the All England? If he has injury, he might as well skip the European tour.

WHAT ??? Taufik will not come to All-England? Hmm....why? And I saw also Indonesia only send a few players...hmm not good for the TC UC preparation..only 1 LD send to AE...not in Swiss and German Open...

I don't understand the way of thinkin of PBSI...if this is the case, the ladies badminton of Indonesia will never achieve high performance..they will be always below China, Korea for sure and become worse compared to Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, denmark...oo come on PBSI....I believe if there will be great chances for them, it makes better.

Besides, I really hope all of best badminton players will participate in the european tour in january, mostly in AE...:)

Taufik is NOT a Chinese. If that's the reason, all the Indonesian Chinese should give it a miss also. Same too for the other Chinese players.

And unfortunately, CNY falls one week after the AE 2006.

Exactly! I thought all the main team players will play in at least 2 tournaments (Swiss and All England). It turns out that they will only play in the AE.

It's even more disappointing to know that PBSI do not send Lita Nurlita/Nathalia Poluakan to compete in the European tour. Does it mean that they are prepared to give up the second women's doubles during the Uber Cup?

The women's singles and Simon will play in both the Swiss and German Opens as I predicted earlier, which is good. However, I felt that Anggun Nugroho/Yunita Tetty should compete in the AE. They reached the quarter-final this year.

Somehow somewhere, I heard that this is also due to World Cup 2006 thus not postponing to a later date. I don't see how much football will affect badminton but well, who knows?

Also, I'll be there everyday~! Woohoo~! 5 days of non stop world class badminton for me~ Will try to get a good camera to get you all some nice pics. Can't promise though, but wish me luck~! -for your eyes only-

:D Hehehehe, I've my speacialty to provide for me~! I smuggled in a camera this year~! But I need a better camera for a larger aperture to cover for better quality~! Moreoever a faster shutter speed will help 'freeze' them in a better angle.

Worse come to worst, I'll have to use my puppy eyes to get through~!

As seen from WC invitational in China, for me, it's not interesting at all. The winner is the person who is the most dexterous but not yet a strong-will one. In the old system, a score 14-0 does not mean the match will come to an end at 15-0 in a match point. However, in the new, it seems hopeless to "overcome" this match point and win over with 17-14 (or 2x-20). An "overcome" match is interesting to be watch. The new scoring system also means that players have to be more careful in his every reponse to the shuttle. So there is no sudden change in the trend of the match which makes the match become interesting. In recent WC when new scoring system became effective, I hardly saw a game of 3 matches. The total time for a game seems shorter than that of the old system. So the new scoring system is only good for the organizers in terms of cutting cost.

Above is just my concerns. Certainly IBF has the rationale to implement the new scoring system (anyone saw it in somewhere in the internet?).

I hope IBF will realize this matter in last WC in China sothat they could come back to the old system in AE06.

The new scoring system WILL ONLY be implemented from Feb 2006 onwards. This would mean that the 3 European tour events in January will still use the old best of 3 -- 15 points system. However, it is certain that the new system will come into play in the future tournaments, including the qualifying and final rounds of the Thomas & Uber Cup 2006. The decision whether or not to adopt the new system will be during the IBF AGM sometime after the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals.
