Do I need to cut off the original grid before I apply the new grid on the racket?

I think you mean grip with a p.

No - you don't have to peel off the old grip - but it might be to thick if you keep adding layers of grip!!

i did peel it off becuz the new grip i put on was a (thick) one basic grip, over that u can put on a thin grip to protect that one
