I've put into practise discussions on strokes and body position and keeping eye on opponent :
1) Maintaining position diagonal to net allows me to see opponent more when hitting from base and allows me to control opponent more not vice versa.
2) Varying overhead arm strokes allows me to control speed, pace and direction of strokes and confuse opponent.

Here's the catch ;

I am highly susceptible when opponents use it against me,
everytime a smash arrives i am caught if it is varied in terms of angle,speed, to body, to sideline and especially to forehannd.
Most of the time the racquet is held in wrong position and body
is too far from net or too far from sideline for eg.

What can be done about it.I am talking about men's doubles.

This is where a coach can really help standing at the net, feeding shuttles and drilling your defensive position with drive shots. After you hit the initial defensive shot, your preparation for the next shot may be less optimal (unconciously). Hence, the feeling of being out of position on subsequent defense.
(A situation that mirrors myself).

I normally choke up on the handle a little, arm is out in front away from the body, wrist bends and ready to snap when birdie comes. Thing is I normally return doubles smash with backhand only unless birdie is very far and high on the forehand side then I use forehand return. It's very effective because at speed well over 100 mph you don't have time to change from backhand to forehand or vice versa. Christian Hadinata the national head coach of Indonesia has on of the best return of smash I've ever seen similar to the Sideks. Hope this might help you a little.

Thanks, I'll try that.Seems many doubles players do that.
