I have been playing sports all my life, but it seems the harder i train or try the more upset(angry) i get if i do bad or lose. I recently was in the highschool tourny and played against a doubles team in my school we went 1st 2nd in all 3 tournys and i found myself getting so angry i couldnt look them in the face when i was shaking their hands after the game. Im not a mean person at all but my competitive side just takes over.

is there any things I can do on the court or tell myself or any tips u have so i can control my self and keep the respect of all my fellow athletes while we are playing sports?

It's the ego consciousness at work here. You have to change the way you see your opponents. Rather than see them as truly hated enemies on the court, you need to see them as people who share the same passion in the sport as you pushing you to play your best. For some of us, it's hard not to get emotions involved in our game. I am not saying that emotion is bad, but there has to be a balance... enough emotion for you to push on and not so much that you lose control. Having a different perspective will calm you down. Of course, you could try meditation as well but that's another method lots of self-discipline... changing the way you see things is much easier IMO:D.Personally, I get more pissed off at myself (or my partner:p) than my opponents. I got no grievance with them as long as they are not too unreasonable:p.

Recently, I won a single's tourney playing a game of my life!! Nonethless, a week after, I lost to an opponent whom I "should" be able to beat. :crying: The feeling was extremely uncomfotable. There is nothing absolute when it comes down to competition. Your condition, control of the shuttle, your opponents, etc. can all affect the outcome of a game. I think that you are just angry at yourself for not being able to perform well. Frankly, if you do not see yourself as the "one" to beat instead of your opponent, it is likely that you are going to lose again next time!! ...so cheer up and try again :D
