I've been playing badminton quite a long time, and am getting quite good.

Currently i have a Prince Aztec racket priced at only £15. Now i'm trying to break into the school team (playing with people 4 years above me), and was wondering the about the nesscesity of a good racket

thanks in advance

This is actually a good question to ask. A much better question to ask than "does racquet matter?" or other simular question. For me a good qacquet means a racquet suits my level of play. Any mid level 1 piece graphite racquet (>$60 US) is consider a good racquet that is not too expensive for student.

Yes, a good racquet is important because it can bring out more of your potential than a cheap $10 steal shaft racquet. You can return better, clear further and smash faster. Another thing is your arm does not get tired as fast.

I assume your are a student and you a re tring to save some money to buy a new racquet. My suggesting is to try out a dew racquet before you set your eye out on any new racquet. DO NOT set your mind on any paticular brand because you might be able to get a very simular "other" brand racquet for much cheaper price. Once you find the racquet you like and know your budget, do some search on this forum and see if you can find a racquet that helps you make the school team . Good luck and have fun.

Cheers mate, do you rreckon you could give me suggestions on rackets around 50-70 pounds, i prefer a light weight racket as i am the height of wristy play, but nothing like a feather i like the prince head shapes and i've been looking at a couple of their new line, but their website doesnt have the price  !

Sorry, I live in US and I really don't know the price in UK. I think there are several member here who is in UK can suggest some good place to buy a good racquet for you. Also, if you try eBay, make sure you look into Bluejeff's list of good seller. DO NOT buy from any seller that is not on his good seller list or DO NOT buy form the FAKE seller list too. One last thing, make sure you read the artical by Kwun on how to tell a fake Yonex racquet.

Play hard and have fun.

1 USD = 0.544804 GBP 1 GBP = 1.83552 US (http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi <-- currency conversion).

I would say to get a racket which suits your game play that best bits you. Try to go to some shops and demo it.

Also describe your playing style to give us a bit of an idea.

www.centralsports.co.uk (http://www.centralsports.co.uk) sell 10 different Prince racquets between £30 and £85. Might want to check them out.

Hmm, describe my playing style, i'm not 100% sure what you mean by that, but i'll give you some details, i'm a wristy player, pretty attacking, love to hit the shuttle hard when i get the chance, however i like a light racket

Hope that helps :o
