In an effort to help those affected by the recent Hurricane Katrina disaster, UCLA Badminton will donate at least 10% of all profits made at this year's Bruin Open to the American Red Cross.

That's a very nice gesture from an excellent school (even though I went to SC :D ).

I'll be at the Tourney, probably just to watch, or may enter in the Funky Doubles and be the weakest link. :p :D

To the above three responses,

Thanks for your kind words and enthusiasm. It's good to hear from everyone! I do hope you can join us and play at the event, S4MADMAN. Having Funky players will definitely bring out some good games at BO. Thanks LAZYBUDDY, we hope our event is successful too. SILENTHEART, two words: "BRUINS FOREVER!".

I hope you can help us spread the word if you get the chance.

Have to check out the schedule, if not too busy around that time I can play in your tournament and perhaps I can get a few friends to join as well. Good luck.

Virocon: regarding Funky Doubles, if a person is matched-up with a "Super A" is matched up with a "C" or "D" player, does the Super A have to give any points to the opponents that are non-Super A?

Thanks. :)

S4MadMan, if you send an e-mail to uclabad@ucla.edu you'll get a more precise answer from the tournament director. He'll answer within the first 24-36 hours if not sooner.

Thanks again for your interest!

It seems the on-line registration submission DOES NOT work with the Apple/Macintosh operating systems.

Please try to register under the Windows operating system if at all possible!

Sorry for the inconvenience! Hope this hasn't deterred any Mac users...we appreciate your participation equally! =)

If you're doing this under Windows, try Internet Explorer. If you continue to have the problem, register by sending an e-mail to UCLABAD@UCLA.EDU with the same info as on the registration page. Put "BRUIN OPEN REGISTRATION" in the Subject heading.

Sorry for the inconvenience (we'll fix this issue for next year's BO) and thanks for participating!

No worries S4. They'll be up today...it's been a long, albeit great, weekend. :)

Thanks again to everybody who came as your participation fundraised ~$250 for the American Red Cross.

That's brilliant. We had a nice time there despite a little bit of a wait between matches (I guess because there are so many entries) but people working at the desk are very nice, pleasant and helpful.

Thanks for participating and thanks for the great compliment. We strive to make the event as enjoyable as possible for everyone. The wait issue is something we've been working to resolve since our first Open. This year's entries again surpassed the previous numbers and, despite using software to run Bruin Open, wait time seems to creep up as a problem for us as it has for other tournaments. WE'LL DEFINITELY CONTINUE LOOKING INTO IT.
