Hi all. I am sad to say that the frame of my Ti-10 Yonex (long) broke today. What are other racquets in the Yonex line that will 'feel' like the Ti-10?

I am also wondering where I can buy ti-10, or similar Genuine Yonex racquets. I don't want to lose my game because I lost my only racquet.

Thanks,
Ilham

Get another ti10. Closest i would say is mp99, but it is a bit more whippy than
ti10.

IMHO get TiSP SX or SS, i've been using Ti10 for a while and after trying the TiSP, it became my fav racquet ever since. (3UG4.5) sp version.

at700 !
same head heaviness, but i got to say at700 does not have the "whip" feeling.

TI SP SX is also similar, but i dont think mp99 is similar to ti10 at all.

just my 2 cents =)

^ Ermmm... they stopped making Ti-10, so you are going to have a hard time trying to buy another one !

You can buy some fakes on ebay or if someone is willing to sell it to you.

Try an MP-100. It is also head heavy, but not as much as TI-10, and slightly less powerful.

MP-100 and TI-10 are both discontinued in Europe and North America, either order online, or go to/ask a friend to go to Asia and buy a one there, as they are still in production and common to find. They also are a lot cheaper in Asia.

You can go back to HK to get Ti-10 Long...I got mine in Toronto...The shop imported some racquets from HK.

I do agree that its almost the same as AT700. In terms of whippiness its almost the same as MP99 but ti-10 is much stiffer than Mp99. Unfortunately Mp99 is not head heavy if not it will be a better racket.

The Swing Power 900 SS or SX can also fit the bill. They are getting harder to find. The Ti SPs is also an option. I also notice that by looking at pictures, the 900 appears to have a thinner shaft compared to the Ti SPs even thou they both have Ultra HM Graphite at the shaft.

Is the Armortec 700 (AT700) the same OVERALL length as the Ti-10 Long ?

If you are still looking to buy Ti-10s, I notice that ebay userid: lilierk sells 2U and 3U Ti-10s on a regular basis. It's already been confirmed that lilierk sells genuine yonex racquets (just read that long ebay thread). Apparently they are not discontinued in singapore.

I'd also recommend the Iso Ti Swing Power SX as well. Fabulous racquet.

I think ns8000 must be the first choice cuase they got the same frame shape ;)

I would say NS8000. I own both racquets and although they play similarly but there is definitely some noticable differences. For instance, NS8000 is less forgiving when miss hit I think it may be due to smaller sweetspot or it is due to difference stringing method (NS8000 use single pass gormmet vs. dual pass gormmets in Ti-10). Ti-10 can generate more power than NS8000 but it has better response time and better precision. Still my personall favorite is Ti-10. FOREVER LIVE TI-10. I only have one Ti-10 thus I use extreme caution when use it. I only play single with it because it is out of production and I don't want to break it due to my partner's careless swing.

I disagree, AT 700 different from Ti10, feels weird using my friend AT 700, head extremely heavy and very stiff, like the entire weight is on the head only...If u are talking about the 2U Ti10 maybe its almost the same, i'm comparing the At 700 with my 3U Ti 10. Just MHO

What you heard is not true. Plus there is no rackets in the Ti Swing Power series that is head light. All of them are head heavy (295+) according to Yonex's data sheet.

kwun from Sunnyvale CA, USA

Review:

i tested out a Isometric Ti SS for around 2 games.

the racket is a head light racket with a medium stiff shaft. the weight is rated as SS, which is 87g. the head is isometric shape, with a much more exaggerated square head. i compared it with my Iso900SS, the predecessor to the IsoTi-SS, the Iso900SS has a slightly shorter and wider head

i found this in the racket review section, so im confused

That review is very old. My response is also there.

Well both 900 series and Ti series they are head heavy, however the way they feel is headlight for some of the models for instance, the SA.

Ok One more question...or maybe a couple more...

Is the TI-10 SP version the SAME TOTAL LENGTH as the TI-10 Long ?

Also, any noticeable differences between play using AT700 and TI-10?

THanks again...

I'm still looking for genuine racquets...of the two above, and have had no luck :(

All Ti-10s are long.

Midget_Boy
09-18-2005, 03:25 PM
All Ti-10s are long.

They are? I thought the newer, more common model was long, while the first batch made, were regular sized. Says so in Yonex.co.jp where in old models there are two Ti-10s, one long and other regular.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Please :) I used the Long version, and if i get another, i'd like it to be a LONG version as well.

Oh, yes you are in fact correct. I checked the page and then I finally remembered that there is two versions. They are identified differently - to be correct, the Ti-10 Long is called the "Ti-10", while the normal one is called "Ti-10R".

Elmo18:

Try lilierk from Ebay since he has auctions of it right now and it appears to be the long version according to the auction pictures.

Elmo18

Ok just one more time to clarify:

TI-10 model is all LONG, but the TI-10R is the regular length?

Any thoughts on At700 vs. Ti-10? Seems like a lot of players using the AT700 for singles now, although maybe that's just a Yonex ploy??!?! for us to buy newer model racquets :(

Many thanks for the help. I've now not played badminton for 2 weeks...amazing..lol....I neeed to find a racquet fast :P

Thanks,
Ilham

Elmo18, yes the information is correct. (http://www.yonex.co.jp/badminton/old-model/index.html) - as it saids there.

Just curious, which part of WA are you located? Maybe you can see my racket.

Hi Matt.

Unfortunately, I am a bit south. I am in Seattle.
Someone needs to open a badminton store down here. It is really sad there is no single store with racquets.

Thanks,
Ilham

The TI-10 has two different lenghts. There was a regular and a long length model. I remmeber the reg. being rather difficult to find, while the long is much more abundant. I personally had two ti-10 longs(2u's) and found its not really simliar to any of the above rackets. BUT, if i had to pick one that was close to it.... 800OF. I have all 3 of them next to me. THough the AT's are both 4U, so its not a accurate gauge. I've always found the 700 to be very head heavy, the first time i used it my forearm was somewhat sore. The ti10 despite being much heavier, dind't wear me out so much. The 800 and ti10 are somewhat simliar...

The AT 700 is much much more flexible than the ti 10. The closest racket to the ti 10 is the AT 800 OF. Although the overall weight is lighter, the weight distribution, flex and feel is almost the same as the ti 10. Unfortunetly though, the only racket that can exactly replace the ti 10 is a ti 10 :crying:

I would try the AT 800 OF.

I am going to buy a Ti-10. Lilierk is offering 2U and 3U. Reading the review made me confused which one is the better one. A few people seem to like 3U for its good power + manoeuvrability but 2U is known for its legendary smashing power. Those who own both versions or had a chance to have tried, any ideas?

Hey Bluejeff, do you have the link to Yonex's data sheet which you quoted here? I'm quite curious to see how the other Yonex racquets are rated according to head heaviness.

Thanks quicksilver, I just bought new TI-10 purple. I was worried about the max tension as they are lower (22lbs max) than other Yonex rackets (24lbs max).
Normally, I string @26-27 lbs. :)
