View Full Version : The average durability on the following?

I was wondering what the average durability on the following racquets are, which are stronger to impact, and which are more likely to break, or have weaker material. Durability based on racquet clashes, body hits, shuttle miss hits, drops, hitting solid things (walls, floors). I know that most of the time, one good clash or force of impact will probably snap a racquet or give it a crack, but on average, or for minor clashes, which would last longer, based on experience etc. Durability based on the racquet as a whole, including shaft and frame, maybe grip/handle?
MP-100
MP-99 (I hear this one is durable, yet extra fragile)
Ti-10
AT-700 (Hear this one is prone to breakage)
AT-800 OF/DF
NS7K (Hear this and NS8K are extremely fragile and easy to break)
NS8K
CAB30MS
MP-66

I guess it all depends on your luck. Any racquet will break from mishit/clashes depending on where you hit it.

NS8k isn't as bad as 7k accoring to my friend...Atleast the chip won't chip off too easily..But I wouldn't recommend 7K or the 8K...Unless you're rich

Well, my experence is quite oppsite. So far, seems NONE of the NS8k suffering through a noticeable clash ever survived. Of course, using clash as determine factors for breakage is not ideal, but still surprise me quite a bit. The slim frame and extra gromment holes definitely have something to do with it.

After seeing all these incidents involving Broken Nanospeeds, I wonder is Yonex ever going to improve the design? They surely lied when they said the nanocarbons would improve durability (what was it? 5%?).
Any other experiences with the other racquets also, Mps, ATs, and anyone try the limited edition "Armortec"?

Well, I can't say Yonex is lying. Their test is done with "proper usage", which means proper way of playing (less mis-hit, no clash) and stringing (yonex pattern, reasonable tension, etc).
However, almost all the breakage I saw, are due to noticeable clashes, and most of the rackets are strung over the recommended tension. Btw, most of the broken spot, are around the "extra gromment holes" (2 & 10 o'clock) area.
