westlake 09-14-2005, 12:46 AM hey,
my gf is quite good at badminton, she has insisted on playing for nearly 5 years.i want to give her a pleasantly surprised on her birthday.so everybody, please give me some advice ,thanks!
kmodak 09-14-2005, 01:06 AM Lucky you.
I keep dragging my wife and daughter top the gym but they dont take to badminton which means I end up playing while looking at the clock all the time. I need to get home to them within a certain time in order to avoid unpleasantness at home.
On you point. i think Wilson N85L will be a good choice. Excellent for drops and placements rather than power shooting. Ideal for lady enthusiasts.

i'd recommend against the ti7 light, its waaayy too heavy light and u need a very quick wrist and swing to play with it
SomeDudeInBlue 09-14-2005, 07:33 PM I use a Ti-7 (Mesh) and I like it with the Yonex BG-65 strings at 22 lbs
If he played that long, I would recommend something more advance. I have been playing Ti-7 (Mesh) and I feel it's limiting compare to other racquets I tried (it's so poor against the Amortec 700 and Ti-10, you can actually feel teh difference).
I'm looking for a Ti-10, but hard to get. I like the Ti-7 Mesh, but like I said, the newer racquets makes my racquet feel limited.
cooler 09-14-2005, 08:01 PM some rackets i cant seem to do well with it, ti-7/light is one of them :o

In china ,ti-10 is quite attainable, just look at"http://www.bbesports.com/English/racket_ti.htm",if you would like to pay both the price and air-express fee.
LazyBuddy 09-14-2005, 10:30 PM What racket ur gf is using now? Iso vs. Oval? Long vs. Regular? Stiff vs. flex? Head light vs head heavy?
If her current racket is similar to Ti-7 light, and she's doing well with it, then, it will be a good buy. ;)
Phuong 09-14-2005, 10:47 PM ur gf play doublt or single??? if double then i think at800de or mp99 more suitable and more right for her if she been playing for almost 5 years. if single then at700 is the right choice:D :p
westlake 09-15-2005, 12:05 AM really Thanks !

My gf now uses ti-5 3u g5,feels well in single play! but i want to give she somewhat surprise on her birthday, you know,a good racket will be a great present to whom that really interested in playing badminton.
at700 is indeed a good racket, but i think she can not fit the heavy head design.at 800 is just the one i like ,and i won't buy 2 same rackets.
forrestyung 09-15-2005, 02:08 AM The colour of Ti 7 light is too dull, no good for girls :D .
Think about the AR50jp, Pink and Light Blue, good girlish colours.
Most important, what is her current racket and is this racket suit her??

Hmmm... I can't remember whether I ever demoed a Ti5 before. If possible, maybe u can do the demo for her, as it suppose to be a surprise gift. Borrow her Ti-5, take some swing, then, go to the store to test Ti-7 light (head light for sure). If u feel both feel quite similar, then, it's the one. Personally, I believe ti-7 light is an easy racket to get adopted to, unless there are huge difference in between 2 rackets.
You are a great bf, lucky her. :p

Hmm, I live in the US, and I don't have much option BUT shiping. A 16 year old kid can't really do much even if they have the money :|

If u talking about sliver/red, I believe that's Ti-7, not Ti-7 light. I believe Ti-7 light being out of US market for quite a while already?

The Ti-7 Light should be the new ones right?
I just looked at my racquet and It's a Ti-7 Mesh, should be a really old one. It's gray and silver and very little blue and black.
Today production of Ti-7 is the Ti-7 Light right? It's Blue and Red?

westlake 09-21-2005, 07:56 PM yes, the ti-7 light is in dark blue, just see

SomeDudeInBlue 09-21-2005, 08:58 PM BTW- my Ti-7 is the original, the first generartion I guess. The new Ti-7 Mesh is red, the original is grayish blue. Not as blue as the Ti-7 Light though

You are very right. I just strung an old Ti-7 mesh for a local player, it's kinda a mixture of blue/white/gray, etc.
