View Full Version : Yonex Intermediate Level
BadGone 09-17-2005, 11:14 AM Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a Yonex racket for intermediate level player.
I'm rather an offensive player : quick drops, drives, and smash.
Not that powerful though.
I was thinking of MP33 but going through the forum, it seems too stiff.
Any ideas ?
Thanks a lot
Dany

DanyI'm not sure, and I think someone will correct me on this, but a stiff racquet helps deliever more power?
Intermediate player, well I would suggest in investing in some really good yonex racuet instead of getting a new intermediate racquet unless you're super rich :D
Look for a range of yonex racquets taht are stiff and has a heavy head frame, usually helps deliever better force tot he birdie, resulting stronger (than usual) smashes.
Midget_Boy 09-17-2005, 02:31 PM Yeah, I also suggest MP-33, if you can find one. I think it is discontinued, a comparable and very similar model is MP-44. Only difference is MP-44's flex is flexible, while MP-33 is Stiff. MP-66 is also a good racquet, but is extra flexible, and you would have to dig deeper in your pockets.
If you're serious about badminton and play a lot, you could invest in a higher racquet. AT-700 gives you a powerful punch, but only if you can use it well, miss hits are common with people new to AT-700. Or MP-100, it's stiff and also has a lot of power. Or go classic with Ti-10, a racquet recommended for offensive players. AT-700, MP-100, and Ti-10 aren't cheap though.
manduki 09-17-2005, 04:18 PM A nice forgving racket is a AT 800 De. if it meets your budget. You can also look outside of Yonex rackets.

Thanks for the advice, any idea on Babolat ?
THanks again
manduki 09-18-2005, 03:03 PM Babolot is encouraged by many pros and many BF'ers for making their own unique racket other than following Yonex. However, I must advise you to try it before you buy. I personally didnt really see a difference in play but than again im not very pro.
goku999 09-18-2005, 04:00 PM if i was in your position i may go for a muscle power 77 if you can find it anymore or a muscle power 66.

IMO, Ti-8 (3U), MP88 (4U), ISO 800 Tour (3U), Cab 30 (3U), ISO 900(SR) & Ti-Swing (SR) with BG85 string
These racket is not really stiff but good enough to generate decent power to quick drops, smash and drives.
Midget_Boy 09-19-2005, 06:21 PM Remember, he's an intermediate, so the best racquets may not come in to his budget or level of play.
He also states he is an offensive player, but not that powerful, so he can't really bring out a racquets best potential just yet.

Many Thanks for theses advices.
I'll try a MP33 (Still available in Paris) and MP66 tomorrow and will certainly buy one or the other
The other racquets mentionned by Mr_Dangerfield are just not available in France.
AT 700 is far too expensive
Thanks again !!!! (Certainly the best BAd site I've found)
