quik_silver 09-17-2005, 06:41 PM Hi guys...After playing with my Ti-10 for 3 to 4 hourrs with 15 mins of break..Not sure am I the one who is suffering after playing with Ti10, I am getting some pain near my arm area...Is Ti-10 abit too stiff or am I just using my arm istead of my wrist..
GTO-demon 09-17-2005, 06:57 PM 3 - 4 hrs..?? straight???>... if so... i dun't see what's wrong with arm pain haha.... my arm starts hurting even after 2 hrs....
quik_silver 09-17-2005, 07:00 PM Well...I did said I took 15 mins of break...So people seem they have any problem..
Midget_Boy 09-17-2005, 07:01 PM Is it a new Ti-10? First time using it? Miss hitting a lot? Maybe you're not used to it, or your arm isn't adjusted to it yet. Could be its head heaviness also.
Whenever I get a new racquet that is different from the ones I usually use, I get arm pain, since I'm not adjusted to playing with it. But if you play with it for awhile, you should get arm pain no more.

Well I have played with it around 2 or 3 times with it..I might did some bad stretches before playing..Not sure though...Maybe I should do more stretches before playing...
SomeDudeInBlue 09-17-2005, 09:32 PM You're fine! I played almost 12 hours staight at UBC with my friend and it was game after game (atleast 5 min between each game because of the wait). And I only had a nose bleed.
Anyway, if your arm does hurt right now, try doing streches with your arm. Don't over strench since your arm is hurting or else you can pull some muscles (ouch?).
I would love to play 4 hours with a Ti-10 :D
FEND. 09-18-2005, 04:23 AM Did you warm up or prestress your arm?
monkeymagic 09-18-2005, 04:41 AM I played with a friends Ti-10 for only 15 minutes and I had the same problem !...lol.....
I think it was because I was not use to playing with it.... like mentioned before, I kept missing the sweet spot and miss hitting it.
I think stretching before and after is vital, especially if you are play with a head heavy racket like the Ti-10. You need to stretch after you finish playing to relax the muscles..... that way your arm won't ache as much.
What is the racket strung at ? how many lbs ? and what strings ?
DinkAlot 09-18-2005, 06:26 AM Is your Ti10 2U or 3U? If 2U, I'm not surprised, that thing is a sledgehammer. :p

wat you talkin about! your blacken is a hand and wrist killer. they should make that thing illegal.
anywayz, it is more likely because of the stiffness of the shaft and the head heavy. normally i would predict that people who use the 2U seem to suffer more than those with the 3U

It's normal, it gave me a nagging arm muscle pain initially too,
Need to get used slowly

Get your swing checked.

Good suggestion. Also, it could be Quik Silver has never played with such a heavy racket and/or the string tension could be higher than he is used to. Lots of variables.
Possibly his arm is not quite used with the shock the racket produces for that length of play time.

My Ti-10 is a 3U5...Maybe I haven't been playing for like 3-4 hours for ALONG time...

Well...I don't MISS alot but then I just don't get the sweetspots that well..But, I am still working on it :)

Ti-10 isn't that heavy IMO..I played with Cab7000 and ISO30VF, they were far heavier than Ti-10..As I said before, I think I don't do stretches that well since I am too lazy to do them. :P But next time, I'll do more stretches! :D:D
lumix 09-18-2005, 01:49 PM I find Ti-10 a very stiff and unforgiving racket (especially the 2U version). Not surprised to hear that some of you chaps are experiencing some pain. I found some threads recommending members to get this racket. IMHO Ti10 is not a racket suitable for all levels and definitely a no-no for beginners. You should possess the correct techniques and skills to fully utilise the potential of this racket. In the long run, you might experience some injury. I would suggest you to go for a more forgiving racket to suit your game rather than 'forcing' yourself to adapt to the racket.
Cheers

I agree. I feel in order to take full advantage of the Ti10, MP100 and AT800OF, you need to be (in general) an intermediate to advanced player.
BethuneGuy 09-18-2005, 10:07 PM Having played with quik silver, it is his stroke lol.

well thats the answer then, the technique gots to get better. better technique also equal less injuries compared to no technique

doh..I guess i have alot of stroking to do...:(
BethuneGuy 09-20-2005, 10:34 PM A lot of CORRECT stroking.
Joseph 09-20-2005, 10:43 PM I'm going to take a wild guess and say that the arm pain is coming from not bringing your elbow forward and lack of hip/shoulder rotation.
