Yes, he's achievement would be even greater since Thailand is not known as a powerhouse in men's badminton, not since the 60s.
if you watch bp vs kj you'll see that bp have alot of talents, if he play in my country i think he''ll more develop with more sparing patners player

Badminton in Thailand remains an unpopular sport up till today.
And for thais who know about badminton, most of them link badminton to ONLY Boonsak.Hahaha!
Boonsak did really well today!
I love his trick shots and back hand smash!!

I agree with both you and Baihaki, too bad BP's neither Indonesian nor Malaysian, his talents could be further refined with high quality sparring. We'd really could use him to face the mighty Chinese ...

Well, give him an Indonesian or Malaysian nationality like some other countries do. They gave nationality to some Chinese players.

i think thailand won't release him, and usually the contry that give nationality must be don't have good player or even don't have. so why malaysia or indonesia must pay him if they have alot of stock

You're right. Anyway, it's not proud to win tournaments with "imported" players. What about buying the whole Brazilian players to tremendously improve the chance to win World Cup. IBF should do something about the rules of import players. IBF should encourage those countries to unearth their home grown players. Probably hire some good coaches.

singapore is an example
they hav imported players in table tennis, badminton n many other sports.
i dun think any country should rely on players from other countries for a medal

If given a chance, Singapore would be most interested. They depend everything on imported players. Their population is small and there is absolutely no high grade local talent.

Haha....couldnt agree more. They do not excel in any sport at all with their own home grown players therefore they have to import. How I wish they can buy the Brazillian team to win World Cup. At least Asia get to win World Cup sooner than later. :D

I won't feel angry but if i am a singaporean i won't feel proud cos i won't feel like is a true singaporean that has achieved that. It's rather much like a short cut to bring sports glory to the country but I don't feel this is a long term solution. Sometimes is not so much the results that count, is how much effort that is put in.
If a player is not as naturally gifted as players from other countries, then i think he/she should put even more effort to compensate for this.

Some of Boonsak's team mates in Thailand team look up to him as an idol.
Sometimes when they meet people of other countries, they will tell others how good Boonsak is!
Many of them called him as P'Man instead of man(his nickname).
P'Man means Man ge ge or Man brother.
This shows that they respect him eventhough he is just their team mate!!
Even the guys in the team think that Boonsak is good looking!
Haha!:D
As far as I know, the team mates in thai team always encourage each other.
I believe its the bond they have that make them stay together.
So I think they wont move to other countries just because of very tight competition.

Right. No point getting angry.
These are second rank players from power house, China. If they chose to stay in China, they will not have any chance to excel. From professional point of view, that is the right thing to do.

Best if Ronald can coach his son and Jiawei coach her daughter!
They can be their parents/coaches!

Hope that Ronald will get well soon,so that he can play in tournies again.

When you say Singapore depends everything on foreign talents, then you are very wrong. Singapore don't depend everything on local talents. For example, Wushu and swimming. And their Wushu athletes and swimmers are better than most of the other South-East Asians. I don't see that being regarded as depending on foreign talents. And i can say that they are high-grade.
And if you think any country should not rely on foreign talents for a medal, then what's the point of USA hurray-ing when Gunawan/Bach won the World Championships? What's the point of Hong Kong being happy when Wang Chen won ABC? They are also foreign talents anyway. And i don't see anyone saying this that time.
We feel proud when foreign talents wins because they are still part of your country. They are groomed here, they live here. And without Singapore, i don't think they will ever make their mark in the sporting arena. Because Singapore brought them over from China that's why they have got the chance to excel. I don't even think they have got the chance to perform when they are in China. They have got too many good players there that they sometimes forget about the a little above average players. So when Singapore brings them over, they become even more famous than some other players who other better than them who are still stuck in China.
Is this considered wrong? We're helping them actually. And even if they are foreign talents, they won't be doing so well if Singapore doesn't have the ability to do so. Because Singapore have the capability, the foreign talents can rise. And is that called relying on foreign players? Singapore plays a part in moulding the foreign talents too. So i think it's really rude to say that about Singapore.

Haha!Yup,he's an idol now,even in his team...:D
I agree that there are too many talented players in China.
Far too many!!
Perhaps they are moving to other countries to prove themselves.
If they stay in China, theres no way they can excel when they are not given equal chance to play and to represent the team.
