Hello, My 2 year old Yonex badminton shoes have lost their grip on wood courts. What do I do? They seem to regain some tact when I dampen their soles, but otherwise, they are as slippery as bowling shoes. What should I do to regain at least some grip?
Thanks.:crying:

you could wet them a little bit with a paper towel before you play, get new shoes or play on better courts :D
since they are 2 years old, i would reccomend that you get new ones if you're a serious player, good luck

what i like to do for any really serious games is get some paper towels, wet them, and leave them court-side.
between rallys, just step on them for a few moments.

It really depends on how much and how intense you play. On average, a shoe needs to be replaced around one year's time. The more it gets used, the sooner you need to replace it. Also, the shoes wear down even faster if your footwork is atrocious. Sounds like you need a new pair of shoes:)!

Agree. Did you check how much tread is left?

A quick solution is to rough up the sole abit. Rub the sole on some rough concrete etc.
