View Full Version : Question about 10m/package and 200m/reel

I heard ppl saying if you just string your racquet once a while (not for business, but only personal use). They prefer to use the 10m package to string the racquet, because they found out the 200m/reel will affect the string quality (when it sits for a long period of time while the package is opened). They claimed 10m package is better, because it's exactly for one racquet only. But the price maybe a bit higher.
I want to hear your opinion.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks.

What is the best method of storing strings to give them the maximum life?

I string an average of 3-5 rackets per week, and I still settle with single package. Easy storage, easy measurements. Yes, the price is a bit higher, but the difference is only about $1 for BG65. When i order, I usually order 30-40 packs of BG65, and pay a total of $30 more than if i order reel. However, that will last me at least 2-4 months. I think I can still afford $.50 per day, to prevent some extra work/trouble. ;)

i have used 4-5 yrs old strings i dug up from storage and they feel the same to me.
also remember that 200m reels are not neccessarily cheaper. if you find the right retailers, they often give discounts if you buy individual packs in bulk.

Very very true. Call them, instead of just click #s on line. Many dealers willing to give quite a bit discount, once u have a bulk order, even it means single packages. ;)

If you know what is popular. By all mean, buy the 100m or 200m reel. I don't make money on stringing for my friend. Every one has their preference. I just buy single packs of different strings for my friends because they use it. I just have to order a lot of them every time to get a discount...

I think what u mean is, popular among customers? It's true in that way, if the stringer is doing business in local community. However, if just for personal usage (except hard hitter, who break string every several days), single pack should be a easier and "lazier" choice to make. :D

I disagree with "lazier". How about "Smarter"?
