Not sure about that, if Chandra/Sigit meet Paaske/Rasmussen, the road is probably tougher than if they meet Cai/Fu. The Danes ex-World Champs need to prove a point before splitting up (I think this is their last tournament together). Would be interesting to gauge Cai/Fu though, all Chinese pairs have taken a step back since the Thomas Cup finals.

On the other half, Luluk/Alven are not strong enough mentally. Koo/Chan are riding on a high, Xie/Guo are an unknown quantity and Wong/Chew have nothing to lose. Yet if the Indons play well, they have the best chance to progress.

Kido/Setiawan are more promising, but they meet own countrymen in Flandy/Hian, everyone knows it's tricky to play your own colleagues. After that (assuming they win), they need to play smart to beat Lundgaard/Eriksen. Not that difficult, the Danes have slowed down since after Olympics last year.

both denmark's pairs have taken a step back, also.
look at denmark open 2005, they're failure.
i think the only hard contander are from malaysia, chan choo ming/koo kien keat , i don't know why chon tan fook/lee wan wah don't participate. and wong/chew is not promising.

They're an older pair and have just played in 2 tournaments in Europe, winning one. It's to keep them fresh for the SEA games.

Actually, I'm looking forward to see the SF, could be Candra/Sigit vs Cai/Fu... The final before final, I guess... It must be a really interesting match, whoever win will prove that they are the best in the present...

If it comes to that, I'd agree with Taufik-ist for Indon win, Cai/Fu are not able to impose their game against more experienced pairs. Or dare we say it, Li Yongbo/Tian Bingyi coaching partnership is just not as good as their playing partnership ...:p

More interesting still is to see the progress of MAS and INDON younger pairs, at this point INDONs have the edge.
