My dad told me that Rudi Hartono's sister (which is also a former player from PELATNAS) married to a Canadian badminton player. So besides Indonesian players, Rudi is also related with an ex-Canadian badminton player. That's why Bola called it 'We are the smash family'...:D

If I'm not mistaken, Hermawan Susanto, Bronze medalist in Barcelona 1992, is Liem Swie King's nephew. Father and son relationship isn't as many as husband and wife relationship in Indonesian badminton...

Sometimes I get confused when I hear something like Suzie's brother johnnie's wife's second cousin is related to her niece's mother's uncles son :-) ... so I'm askind this with some hesitation, but here goes:
Wouldn't the wife of Candra Wijaya (if he married Caroline Indriana like it says) be named with the same last name? ie. Caroline Wijaya...? Or maybe they don't do that in Indonesia?
Btw, is Ronald Susilo originally from Indonesia? And didn't he use to play for the U.S.?

As far as I know, I don't think we follow the practice of changing the bride's surname to follow the groom's. Married women still retained their surname, eg: Susi Susanti, Megawati Soekarnoputri (ex-president), Yayuk Basuki (the famous tennis player), etc.
Ronald has been studying in Singapore since he was young and yes, he was from Indonesia. I believe he has converted his nationalities to be a Singaporean few years ago. And he hasn't played for the U.S. team before.
