red00ecstrat 11-06-2005, 06:37 AM just look at lin's at700!
red00ecstrat 11-06-2005, 06:38 AM canon or nikon? what do u guys think?
red00ecstrat 11-06-2005, 06:40 AM nathan's chatting with his fan!
red00ecstrat 11-06-2005, 06:42 AM miss photographer. can i buy u a drink?
red00ecstrat 11-06-2005, 06:44 AM zyw looks more attractive that way!
red00ecstrat 11-06-2005, 06:52 AM yesterday cheung and i was explorering some pro players' weapons. we'd found that the grip of lin dan's racket was totally trashed. i thought lin would change a new grip every time before playing. but i guess i was wrong!
cheung will tell u guys a little bit more about rackets of pro players afterwards.
red00ecstrat 11-06-2005, 06:53 AM yonex had put a new logo on the court at last!
ying ying 11-06-2005, 06:58 AM lol.. That pic of Zhang Yawen is totally unlike the cute little gal we always see on court.. she looks more.. erm... older that way.. haha.. :D The guy beside must be Guo Zhendong..;)
red00ecstrat 11-06-2005, 07:00 AM alright guys. mission accomplished! those were my best shots of the hk open 2005! hope u all like it!
u know, i've promised myself not to do that again in 2006. :D :D :D. that's a tough assignment! :crying:

Thanks for all the pics, they are excellent shots, especially the shots of Lee Chong Wei, Bao Chunlai and Lin Dan. Great work! It would be better if you have a few shots of Peter Gade but you really done a great job! Thanks
DinkAlot 11-06-2005, 07:15 AM Red: great pics! Thanks so much! :D
rollerbuzz 11-06-2005, 07:16 AM yesterday cheung and i was explorering some pro players' weapons. we'd found that the grip of lin dan's racket was totally trashed. i thought lin would change a new grip every time before playing. but i guess i was wrong!
cheung will tell u guys a little bit more about rackets of pro players afterwards.
it's not his grip that's thrashed mind you! lin dan purposely wrapped only the bottom part of the grip so he'd know how to control and not hold the upper part of the racquet! it's to train himself not to hold too high.

was that true? he said that himself? =O that's very interesting

that make sense.
in fact, the stringer had talked to cheung about lin's racket but i didn't hang around on their conversation. :p

red00ecstrat 11-06-2005, 08:36 AM oops.... just forgot to post this one!
ng wei's fans may not like what they are going to see! ;)

nice pictures, very nice.
If possible, more explaination, could be better. Especially, who's on the pictures. A lot of players I cannot recognise, except Lin Dan and Bao CL. Besides, using full name is better than just like zyw (this probably Zhang Yawen), it is difficult for me to figure out who are nw, ch, cy, cj, xx, ly, ...
by the way, ly could mean Lee Yuan il, or Li Yu, or Li Yi, they are all top 50 players, even xx could mean Xia Xuanze, or Xie Xing, or maybe others.
Thanks anyway

i think abbrev. used in specific topic/thread is warranted and most posters use them appropriately. Why? because we know only certain players playing HK open and/or with pics shown. To me, i automatically interpret xx as xie xing fan, not xia xuanze. Also, i use abbrev of xxf and xzx in generalized topic thread to eliminate any confusion. Do i make cents  ;)

You said is absolutely right. Always allowed to use initials, anyhow, using full name means a little bit work for writers, but a lot easier for multiple number of readers.
Your post is alive example, my example of XX means Xie Xin, a rising men's single star from China. but it could also be interpreted as Xie Xingfang, or Xia Xuanze.

**KZ** 11-06-2005, 03:50 PM are there 2 bronze medal winners?
very rare to have bronze medal winner in this kinda tournament
storkbill 11-06-2005, 05:44 PM great set of pictures, lots of details for the badminton fan :)
other 11-06-2005, 05:53 PM by the way, ly could mean Lee Yuan il, or Li Yu, or Li Yi, they are all top 50 players, even xx could mean Xia Xuanze, or Xie Xing, or maybe others.

oh come off it....XX could *possibily" be XXZ or XXF but surely you'd notice which one it is:rolleyes:
and personally i think the more well known players can and sometimes should be abbreviated, while the lesser known players should have their names in full, such as Li Yu and Li Yi. of course, a well known player to me may not be known at all to another and vice versa. however, red and cheung are not writing an article, just posting their pics (of relatively well known players in my opinion) so I see no wrong in their use of abbreviations.
ps, u can always ask who is who:) that way the "problem" players are identified for the future:cool:
red,
very impressive. us amateurs photographer bows to ya...
Assorted pics.. There is a candid shot of our Sally and Lam Chee Cheong

Um... he is a really good singer.
He used to be Sally's Mentor. Voice and Singing coach if i'm not mistaken. And it blossomed into Love.. and both share the same passion in Music. Ok.. back to topic..

Your pic are just wonderful, and drive us crazy. The pic of Zhang Yawen was so great! I like her and only saw her sports type in Anaheim, CA. When she blocked in the front aggressively, and 'yelled' at her partner at the back of the court =): But this time is very 'stylish" =): Hummmmmm, attractive SiChuan girl. :p
Btw, your job title is attractive too, photojournalist^_^ Thx again for the great pix!!
