I've been thinking about this for a while. Our school only has a mixed team this year and i'm in it. I've been pondering about this for a while, I was raised to be kind to girls and not be mean. Today I noticed everybody hitting to the girl only, which made the game very boring (our school girls are very weak).

1. Should I go against my morals and hit to the girl?
2. Play the game but not make shots to the girl?

What happens when your foundation and morals far apart?

Should I give up my morals just for the win?

I think if you are just trying to have a fun game hit it 2 they guy and girl, but in a game you are trying to win you would hit it at the girl alot more. Mixed or not you always try to hit it at the weeker player

Hitting to the girl to win the point isn't against your morals.

Hitting the girl with the shuttle to intimidate her is.

If it's a tournament or a competitive game, well that's what you're out there for.

So it's more a question of how boring/bored you are with doing that. Can't answer that one.

But it's not against your morals.

It's frustrating when someone does that to you but in a competitive game but I can't fault someone for picking on a weakness. After all that's a big part of badminton.

Look at it this way. If your school is fielding a mixed team for inter-school tournaments, then you will want to make sure that everybody improves and play well.

In your normal training matches, play as if you are out to win and that is to take advantage of any weaknesses that your opponents has. If you are still having a fun game, then play it so that the weaker team player (on both sides) get opportunities to improve their play. You can work out with the other stronger player beforehand that you both can only play certain shots, etc. (e.g. no smashes) and when the player level increases, you can add in the smashes to work on their returns, etc.

Talk to the girls beforehand so that they know what is going on. I would be pissed if my partner and the opposition partner prearrange without letting me beforehand.

At the start of the match i will hit a coupel of shots to see thei rlevel of play! If they are able to handIe my stokes then, I maximum try to refrain from hitting to the lady! But then in some rare occasions when there is no other choice as other choices would eb a very very small percentage shot then i play to the lady! It woudl be fair if i believe that the Opponent was good lady's player then i woudl love to smash to them knowing that they might be capable of sneding them back! But if i believe that they are not then i will never play to them!

Let the ladies fight their WAR

It isn't immoral to hit to the girl... She's a competitor, and she wants to win as bad as you do, so it isn't immoral to hit it to her.. calling something out that was in is immoral... i haven't really run into this problem, since the girls i play with are strong... but at school.... i run into this problem a lot... at first i tried no smashing, then no drops, then just clearing and waiting for them to make mistakes... right now, i've just been bored, since there is only 1 other player at my school who can beat me... not surprising, since she was national champ....

i seem to have been babbling... long story short, don't worry about hitting it to the girl... maybe she'll have ben national champ and school you...
