This is a desparate plea !

My main racket is a single Ashaway Flex 8000 Titanium, but I have problems - no spares !

This is a really old racket now - circa late 1990's I think. I've tried contacting Matt Ross as there are archived threads talking about him buying some second-hand in 2002 !! (However, I haven't had a reply yet)

I would dearly love to track down a spare or two myself. These are old rackets now so likely to have been retired by owners, but surely some must still exist ! If there is anyone who has an old Flex 8000 (silver and black livery with light-blue writing) sitting in their bag, or a cupboard, which they would be prepared to part with, I shall make a reasonable offer ! Please PM me, or even better email me on db298@cam.ac.uk

goodluck... but you may want to start trying out some other rackets also. There are a lot of brands out there that are surprisingly good..

I appreciate that, but the issue is a combination of not wanting to learn to like a new racket if it's not necessary, and finances. I've been trialing other rackets like the Ashaway superlites, and the Yonex Armortecs, but I still love my Flex. Also, if I need to buy two new rackets in order to have a spare, then that may be a strech too far for the kind of money I have :(

Please Matt Ross, if you're still out there :p
