Jian Hao did not disappoint. He and his partner, Iskander, have just won the Cheers Youth International 2005 U15 Boys' Doubles title, beating last year's champion and No. 1 seeded Indonesian pair, Kusuma and Fathurahman, in three games, 15-11, 3-15, 15-7 in the final.
Kokcheng, our fellow BC member naturally must be proud of his son, so is mother Karen, who patiently video cam most of JH's encounters right up to the final. For this is Jian Hao's first overseas victory in a rather competitive tournament. His recent enrolment in BJSS (Bukit Jalil Sports School in KL) and subsequent partnership with Iskander, who has been with BJSS for about 2 years now, could not have come at a better time!
With the staunch support of his parents, we hope Jian Hao can blossom into a much better player in both singles and doubles and that he will be given more tournament exposure in due course.
