Hi again, finally got one of the two woven 12's that I ordered. Donno what else I can say other than flawless. Lots of power, great control, good defense, best feel and stability of any other racquet I've used (and I tried pretty much the entrie yonex line before buying these). Feels so much more solid on impact than either NS7or8K.

Yeah, the strings are decent, strung at 26lbs, once those go, I'll put some bg85 on.

I agree, I prefer BG-80 as well. BG-80 has better control and much better durability. Repulsion is close with the edge going to the SOTX string.

Are you sure you got the right string? From my experience, BG-68Ti does not hold tension well compared to BG-80 and BG-85. Of course, YMMV.

I would rate the 1040ti-65 well above the 68ti. I have never really liked the BG-68ti much.. But if you like it..good for you..

well they are a bit slippery but they are very durable considering the fact that they are so thin and it does hold tension quite well actually better than bg65 you just need to adapt to the feel because of the Ti coating

The Red star with 八 . 一 under the T-joint. 八 is same as 8 and 一 is same as 1 in Chinese. 八 . 一 should be an army or sport club............. I always hear this term.the Red Star with 八 . 一 is actually the badge of chinese army. 8.1 or Aug 1st is the date when the army was born.

the chinese army sports team is actually very powerful in many sports such as football, basketball etc. it is one of the teams that attend the chinese national games, amongst those province teams and teams like beijing and shanghai.

Players who belong to the army sports team are all soldiers in the first place, but their job is on the sportsfield instead of battlefield.

Lin Dan comes from the army's badminton team, and he is still a soldier now, i'm not too sure about his rank, but it should be something like a colonel. and that's why sometimes you see him salutes after victory. he is an armyman.

so, i think this racket is not a market product but from the chinese army badminton team, don't forget SOTX is their sponsor. and no one else dares to use the army badge on anything.

I went to the Classic Sports @ Toa Payoh SAFRA today, eying on a Woven 12 but it was out of stock. The owner, Mr. Soh Wee Siong, recommended me D-900, D-600 and other Wovens and was kind enough to let me have a try on his D-900 and Woven 7.

It was the first time I tried a Sotx. Too short time to say anything about it but I was shocked by the price of the D-900. Hanging alongside the latest NS9k, it is just 5 bucks cheaper. And I also learned that some Wovens are significantly more expensive than the best Yonex.

I ended up with a Woven 9, paid for the price of an MP100, which is one of my favorites. I'll let you guys know how I think about it next week. My gut feeling tell me that I will like the racket. But if I do, I will need to try as many Sotx models as possible to find out the right one for myself. It's not as easy as deciding which Yonex though. I have plenty of friends using Yonex but none using Sotx. Would any Sotxer in Singapore be kind enough to let me try??

$180. you wanna try it out?

I believe I will like the D900 given more time. But I had only a few strokes with it, and the tension is 2 lbs higher than my own, I miss the sweetspot a few times out of the few strokes I tried. So I really can't tell now...

Hi franxon, its ok man, but anyway, thanks for yr offer to let me try out yr new Woven 9. :p Ya, i also had a number of strokes with the D-900...but quite like the feel and power generated even thou the string was strung 2Lbs above wat i normally used too...was quite surprised. :D Hence now, its so so so tempting to buy the D-900. :crying:

Oops, i tink i might have side-track abit of this thread to the D-900's thread http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29891 instead of keeping to Woven 12 discussion... so i better stop now. :o

If you should leave this thread with the topic of D-900, then I shouldn't have come in talking about Woven 9 at all. :D

And yes I agree with you man, the D-900 is tempting. But i have failed to persuade myself towards an NS9k, I wouldn't think I will succeed towards a D-900. :-D

Let me get a bit more off topic before I leave: notice the FZ (forza) racket LUNDGAARD has been using? I'm a bit curious at that too....

Hi franxon, Woven 12A is available now at Classic Sports.....but there's only ONE piece available. ;)Dah! you shouldn't have told me. Now it's all your fault if my pocket gets shrinked.:D

however, Woven 9 doesn't play nice in my hand. I say, in my hand. So please please don't generalize it. I like and am ok with almost all Yonex rackets, from MP99 & MP100 to AT700, AT800OF, AT800DE, and NS7000. I don't like NS8000, never tried NS9000.

You'd say these rackets are from two extremes, from head light to head heavy. Yeah, but maybe because I'm not that advanced a player, after a week or two, I would get used to and fall in love with each of them.

Trying out different rackets is as fun as playing badminton. So for this part, i'm always ready to give a new racket a try, as long as my wallet allows; for serious play, I'll stick to Yonex.

as for woven 12....the feel of the racket is good, if not great, but power is lacking...I'd say go for the 13, same/more feel much more power, still reasonable in defence

Yes, 4U. Lighter, but the swing is actually comparable/similar to the D600 and 11. The feel/stability of the AT700 is very similar to the D600, that's why I like it. And it's definitely not flexy, on par with the D600 and 11.

The AT800s are brittle, relatively speaking. The AT700 I feel, is a stronger due to the traditional grommet holes. Regardless, the main reason why I switched back to Yonex is because I now have direct service through a Yonex Representative and can get unlimited warranty exchanges. :)

I'm still waiting for my D600s, they are not here yet, it's been many months. :(

Yeah, the strings are decent, strung at 26lbs, once those go, I'll put some bg85 on.

Well I hope you have access to an electronic stringer cuz it wont feel the same with bg65 ...

My wovens came pre-strung at 26 lbs on an electronic machine and felt amazing from the first few hits ... but then I couldn't find anyone to re-string them the same way and I haven't got the same feeling since I bought them.

bg65 also wears out long before it breaks ... so it might feel ok at first but it starts to soften pretty soon and you loose the feel really fast.
